Xiaomi has finally updated its Redmi Note 13 Series to HyperOS in India. The devices were launched earlier this year, but they debuted with MIUI. The latest HyperOS update is now available on the Redmi Note 13, Redmi Note 13 Pro, and the Redmi Note 13 Pro+. Let’s look at the changes and new features the phones have got.

HyperOS Update on Redmi Note 13 Series; What’s New?

The HyperOS update on the Redmi Note 13 Series comes with improved performance, a new intuitive interface, and several other optimizations across the operating system. It follows a ‘human-centric’ approach for seamless integration with other Xiaomi products.

HyperOS has many visual changes. It allows users to create multiple lock screens with customizable backdrops and themes. The update also brings support for new widgets and clock styles. The update has lighter and more natural-looking app icons and animations throughout the system. It also introduces label-free icons in the control centre for easy access to all options and features. Users also get better options to interact with their notifications.

HyperOS also improves the resource utilization on devices. The new operating system distributes tasks across multiple computing units to maximize hardware performance with optimal power consumption. There’s improved encryption and privacy security to safeguard users.

New features in HyperOS on the Redmi Note 13 Series include a revamped File Manager. The latest update brings new categorization options in the default File Manager app. Xiaomi has also refreshed its native weather app. It now shows accurate representations of weather conditions with new animations. The app also provides additional metrics like air quality index (AQI), UV Index, Humidity, Wind Direction, Pressure, and other natural factors.

The Redmi Note 13 Series is also well known for its camera prowess in the midrange segment. The company says the HyperOS update has significantly improved the camera performance of the Redmi Note 13 series. Another nifty addition to HyperOS is the improved split-screen feature. It allows users to use two different apps at the same time. This feature can be accessed by long-pressing the recent apps history section.

The Redmi Note 13, Note 13 Pro, and Note 13 Pro+ users can update their phone from MIUI to HyperOS by going to Settings > About Device > Software Update. Note that the update is being rolled out in batches, hence some users may have to wait a while to receive the update.

The latest HyperOS update comes with the March 2024 security patch. Xiaomi has ensured that the transition from MIUI to HyperOS will be smooth. There will be no data loss, and no need to reset the phone after the update.
