Redmi president Thomas Wang has announced a new Turbo lineup for the Chinese market. The company plans to launch performance-centric smartphones under its new Turbo series. The Redmi Turbo 3 will be its first handset under the new lineup.

The company is launching the Turbo 3 directly without launching the Turbo 1 and 2. The reason behind this could be the Redmi Note 11T Pro and the Redmi Note 12 Turbo. These devices also focused on providing great performance at an affordable price tag.

The Redmi Turbo 3 could be the device earlier speculated to debut as the Redmi Note 13 Turbo in China. This also means the Redmi Turbo 3 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor.

The all-new Turbo series will join Redmi’s number series, Note series, and K-series in China, filling the gap between the Redmi Note and Redmi K-series smartphones. The new Redmi Turbo series will cater to those looking for a performance-centric device on a budget.

According to the Redmi President, the Note series will focus on providing an overall balanced experience at an affordable price point, while the existing K-series will continue delivering flagship killer segment smartphones. However, introducing a new Turbo series will likely add to confusion for buyers, given the existing ‘e’ models of the K-series focused on delivering performance-centric devices at around RMB 2,000 price points.

The Redmi Turbo 3 will likely remain exclusive to the Chinese market and is expected to debut as the POCO F6 in global markets, including India. The POCO F6 recently acquired IMDA certification in Singapore and was previously spotted on the IMEI database as well.
