The company has been launching various smartwatches in the Indian market to take on home-grown rival brands. Xiaomi sells only Redmi Watch 2 Lite and Redmi Smart Band Pro in India. The Redmi Watch 2 Lite has become outdated in the market and needs an update. Xiaomi recently hinted that it would launch a new smartwatch soon in India. The company has revealed that it will launch Redmi Watch 3 Active in India. Xiaomi would launch the smartwatch along with the Redmi 12 smartphone.
Redmi Watch 3 Active Launch Date and Specifications
The teaser shared by Xiaomi reveals that Xiaomi will launch the smartwatch on August 1. Xiaomi has already revealed the colour options of the upcoming Redmi 12 smartphone. The upcoming Watch 3 Active is a rebranded Redmi Watch 3 Lite launched in China. Xiaomi launched Redmi Watch 3 Lite in China for RMB 495 (approx. Rs 5,700). We expect Xiaomi to price the Redmi Watch 3 Active in a similar price range in India.
Xiaomi recently listed the upcoming Watch 3 Active on its global website. The listing revealed the complete specifications of the upcoming smartwatch. However, the listing didn’t reveal the pricing and availability for the global markets. Xiaomi equips the Watch 3 Active with a 1.83-inch AMOLED display. The display has a resolution of 240 × 280 pixels and a peak brightness of 450 nits brightness. Xiaomi claims that the display supports over 200 customized watch faces. Similar to other smartwatches, the watch gets support for Bluetooth calling.
Xiaomi equips the watch with a dedicated microphone and speaker for Bluetooth calling. The Redmi Watch 3 Active gets support for tracking various health-related functions. The watch can track heart rate, SpO2, and sleep. Xiaomi has also equipped a watch with support for female health tracking. The watch also gets support for tracking over 100 different sports modes.
The company equips the watch with the latest Bluetooth 5.3 protocol for better connectivity. The watch is compatible with both Android and iOS running smartphones. However, the compatibility will be limited to devices running on Android 6.0 and iOS 12.0 or above. The watch’s NFC support will help users make payments in contactless modes. The 5ATM water resistance will ensure the watch performs in any outdoor conditions.
Xiaomi has packed the Watch 3 Active with a 289 mAh battery. The company claims that the watch has a battery life of 12 days. The battery life will be reduced to 8 days on heavy usage. The upcoming Redmi Watch 3 Active has a dimension of 46.94 x 38.88 x 10.94mm and weighs 41.67 grams.
