Samsung Galaxy A55 with Exynos 1480 SoC and Xclipse 530 GPU Appears on Geekbench, Launch Seems Imminent

Samsung is expected to launch the next iteration of its A-series smartphones in the coming months. The company will also unveil the Samsung Galaxy A55 as the successor to the last year’s Samsung Galaxy A54. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy A55 is expected to be powered by a Exynos 1480 SoC (which the company is yet to announce).

Now, we have spotted the Samsung Galaxy A55 on the Geekbench benchmark database which reveals the CPU scores and GPU details. The Samsung Galaxy A55 Geekbench listing also suggests that Samsung will ship the device with Android 14 based OneUI. Let us take a closer look at the details.

The Samsung Galaxy A55 with the model number SM-A556B made an appearance on the Geekbench benchmark database. The upcoming A-series handset grabbed 1127 points in the single core round of the benchmark test. Whereas, in the multi-core round, the score was recorded as 3090 points.

The Samsung Galaxy A55 Geekbench listing reveals the presence of an octa-core processor which has the model number s5e8845. As per the listing, the SoC on the handset consists of four performance cores (clocked at 2.75GHz each) and four efficiency cores (each clocked at 2.05GHz). The listing also reveals the presence of an integrated Xclipse 530 GPU.

The Samsung Galaxy A55 is expected to be powered by a Exynos 1480 processor which will be a successor to the Exynos 1380 that powers the Galaxy A54. Samsung is yet to unveil the Exynos 1480 officially. One of the biggest change that we are going to see with the Galaxy A55 is the GPU performance. Samsung, for the first time will use AMD Xclipse GPU on a Galaxy A5x. Previously, the brand used Mali GPU on Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A53.

The Samsung Galaxy A55 Geekbench listing also reveals the presence of 8GB of RAM under the hood. The handset, as per the listing, will come pre-loaded with Android 14 out of the box, but as usual, the company will offer it with OneUI skin on top.
