  • A user has reported that Samsung India is aware of the issues and has rectified them in the second production batch of Made in India S24 series models.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S24 series, which includes the Samsung Galaxy S24, Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra in India last month. The new generation of Galaxy S-series smartphones offers Galaxy AI, Dynamic AMOLED LTPO displays, Exynos 2400/Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, up to 200MP primary camera, etc. However, soon after the launch users started complaining about camera issues on these devices, which is unfortunate considering Samsung is promising the best-in-industry camera experience with the new flagships.

But it appears that Samsung is aware of the issues and will roll out a fix through future software updates.

Samsung Assures Galaxy S24 Series Camera Fixes Through Software Updates

The assurance came on the official Samsung forum in Korea on the post of a Samsung Galaxy S24 user. In the post, the user was complaining about “blurred textures and decreased picture quality” as compared to their old Samsung Galaxy S20.

The post sparked a conversation with responses from many users, including a forum moderator, who is in charge of the camera-related updates. The moderator, in his reply, assured that Samsung will analyse photos received from users on various channels and roll out fixes when deemed necessary through software updates.

However, the moderator also emphasised that the cameras on the Galaxy S24 series have been tuned to be more natural as seen by the human eye and the three-dimensional effect has been improved. No other changes have been made apart from that. The moderator goes on to suggest that users should activate optimal shooting for each scene in the intelligent optimisation option in the camera setting for best results.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Issues

The S24 launch has been accompanied with several user complaints about problems with the devices. The most serious issues being reported are around camera and display.

Users have complained on the Samsung Community and forum posts that the S24 Ultra experiences an image shift issue when switching zoom where the focus object becomes blurry. Additionally, users have also reported that there is a barn-door kind of transition effect when switching between zooms.

Another Galaxy S24 Ultra user posted yet another grave issue with the video recording on the device. According to the user, the video recording skips and jumps when panning the camera sideways with blurry focus.

In related news, a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra user in India faced similar camera issues. After facing an image shift issue while zooming to 5x as well as dull and grainy images, the user took his device to the Samsung Service Centre. He posted that he experienced the same issues with the showroom device as well as his own. The user also claims that the first batch of the made-in-India Galaxy S24 series models are affected by the camera issues.

Another grave problem plaguing the Galaxy S24 Ultra is the dull vivid colour mode and green line issue on the display. A Reddit user has complained that the vivid colour mode on the Galaxy S24 Ultra looks extremely dull across the interface, but not within the apps.

Moreover, several users have complained that their Galaxy S24 Ultra developed the dreaded green and white lines on the display. The user further claimed that Samsung refused to replace the unit.
