The leaks of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 series smartphones surfaced on the internet way ahead of the launch of the forthcoming Galaxy S24 series smartphones. A tipster recently revealed the camera specifications of the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S26 Ultra smartphones. The upcoming Galaxy S25 series smartphones are also tipped to undergo significant design overhauls.

Tech Reve, a reliable tipster on X (formerly Twitter), recently claimed that Samsung might ditch the existing GN3 sensor for the vanilla S25 and S25+ smartphones. The tipster added that Samsung is aiming to equip the smartphones with a Sony sensor. However, a new leak reveals that Samsung has reportedly canceled its plans to ditch the GN3 sensor.

Samsung to Continue Exisitng GN3 Sensor for Upcoming Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ Smartphones

Samsung equipped the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ smartphones with the ISOCELL GN3 sensor for the primary camera. The sensor has a sensor size of 1/1.56-inch and a pixel size of 1.0µm. The ISOCELL GN3 came as a slight upgrade over the ISOCELL GN5 sensor found on the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ smartphones.

The leak from Tech Reve reveals that the South Korean giant will continue to equip the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ smartphones with the same sensor. The new leak comes as a surprise for the customers who hoped for an image quality improvement with the upcoming Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ smartphones.

The tipster recently revealed that Samsung has roped a designer from Mercedes Benz to undergo a significant design overhaul with the Galaxy S25 series smartphones. Samsung has been using the same design for its flagship smartphones for the past three years. The upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra is also rumoured to sport a new 200MP Samsung sensor.

The upcoming 200MP sensor will reportedly have a sensor size of 1 inch with a pixel size of 0.8μm. Samsung will equip the sensor with horizontal and vertical dual-pixel autofocus (H/V DPAF) and support for 4x in-sensor zoom. The South Korean giant will equip the Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset.

The upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra is also rumoured to sport a new 50MP ultrawide lens. The sensor will be paired with a folded telephoto sensor with numerous capabilities. Samsung is likely to equip the device with support for variable zooming. The South Korean giant will also ship the upcoming Galaxy S25 series smartphones with an AMOLED display based on M15. The vanilla Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ are rumoured to sport Exynos 2500 chipsets outside the US and China.
