Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, Flip 3 launch date
Samsung is gearing up for the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Flip 3 launch event. According to a new report, the two foldable smartphones will launch on August 3. Samsung has also reportedly begun the mass production of its new foldable smartphones.
Tipster Jon Prosser claims that the company has ordered manufacturers to produce 50,000-70,000 units of each foldable smartphone on a daily basis. This number is reportedly a lot higher than the previous generation models. A recent report claimed that only a third of the typical quantities are being produced. The report had stated that the Flip 3 production is still pending.
Both devices are rumoured to go on sale starting August 27 in select markets. There is no word on the India sale details at the moment. Meanwhile, let’s take a look at the key details leaked ahead of the official launch
Galaxy Z Fold 3 specifications
Design renders of the Fold2 successor had leaked in the past, suggesting that it will have a triple-camera setup on the back. The camera module design is simple compared to the Fold 2 and the Galaxy S21 series. Previous reports suggest that the phone will have a 12MP + 12MP + 16MP camera sensor setup. The device will launch in three colours – Black, Grey, and White. Samsung is also expected to launch the foldable phone in a Beige colour option.
The foldable phone is also touted to feature an under-display camera (UDC). However, the inclusion of UDC is not confirmed yet due to logistical issues. If the company decides to go ahead with UDC, the Fold 3 will come with a 16MP front camera on the main display. It will also have a 12MP front camera on the cover display. Some key design details of the clamshell Flip 3 have also leaked. It is expected to launch in four dual-tone colours – Purple, Black, White, Green. The leaked renders show two noticeable differences. It will have a larger secondary display. The original Flip has a 1.1-inch cover display. One of the images shows that the cover display is big enough to read a text message.
