Sony will be launching the Sony Xperia 5 V smartphone on September 1. The company confirmed the launch date of the device two days back. Sony will be live-streaming the event on YouTube at 7 AM UTC (12:30 PM IST). The Xperia 5 V smartphone from Sony will be arriving as a successor to the Xperia 5 IV which made its debut in September last year. Now ahead of the official launch, the Sony Xperia 5 V North American variant has appeared on Geekbench. The benchmark listing confirms the hardware specifications of the device.
Sony Xperia 5 V Will Pack 8GB of RAM
As per the Geekbench test result, the Xperia 5 V (XQ-DE54) will come with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The device will pack up to 8GB of RAM and it will run Android 13 out of the box. The handset has managed to pull off 1,453 and 4,556 points in the single-core and multi-core tests respectively. The promo video which leaked last month had confirmed that the device will feature a dual-camera setup, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The handset will offer 33W fast charging support as per the 3C certification listing.
The promo video which was leaked earlier also had revealed that the Xperia 5 V will debut in Black, Blue, and White colour options. Apart from the hardware details, no other specifications of the Xperia 5 V are known at the moment. We shall get to learn the detailed specifications, pricing, and market-specific availability of the device once it debuts on September 1.
As mentioned above, the Xperia 5 V will arrive as a successor to the Xperia 5 IV which was released in September last year. To recall, the Xperia 5 IV features a 6.1-inch OLED display that has a 21:9 aspect ratio, 1080 x 2520 pixels resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC which is coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It features a 12MP triple-camera setup, a 12MP selfie camera, stereo speaker, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The device packs a 5,000mAh battery which supports 33W fast charging. The smartphone is priced at $999 (roughly Rs 82,470) and it comes in Ecru White, Black and Green colours.
