Tecno appears to be working on the successor to its Phantom V Fold smartphone. The Phantom V Fold is the company’s first foldable device and was launched at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2023. Now, the Tecno Phantom V2 Fold has been spotted on benchmarking site Geekbench, which reveals its key specifications.
Before this, the smartphone also appeared on IMEI (via GSMChina), which apart from confirming the Phantom V2 Fold moniker, also confirmed its model number. As per the GSMChina report, the Tecno Phantom V2 Fold is set to make its debut in the first quarter of 2024. We look at everything the latest Geekbench listing of the smartphone has revealed.
On Geekbench, the Tecno Phantom V2 Fold has been listed with the model number AE10, which is the same as that on IMEI. Further, the motherboard is codenamed XYZ-MARS. The 1.8 GHz octa-core processor includes four cores clocked at 1.8 GHz, three cores clocked at 2.85 GHz, and a primary core, which can be clocked at up to 3.20 GHz.
Going by the specifications of the SoC, it could pack the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset. To recall, the Tecno Phantom V Fold is powered by the same processor.
Tecno Phantom V Fold is among the cheapest clamshell smartphones in India and the company likely wants to continue this with its success as well. By keeping the same processor, Tecno might be able to keep the pricing of the V2 Fold as well closer to that of its predecessor, which was launched at a starting price of Rs 88,888.
Tecno Phantom V2 Fold could ship with 12GB onboard RAM and run Android 14 out of the box. On Geekbench, the smartphone scored 1,273 points in single-core performance and 3,844 in multi-core performance.

As of now, not many details of the Phantom V2 Fold are available. However, a GSMChina report claims that the smartphone could launch as early as Q1 2024. If we go by the report, then it shouldn’t come as a surprise if the company announces the phone at MWC, as it did with the original Phantom V Fold. MWC is among the largest mobile shows globally and is held every year in Barcelona. This year, it is scheduled to take place from February 26 to February 29.
