The TRAI DND app is being worked on by the regulatory authority to fix technical bugs reported by users. TRAI secretary V Raghunandan said at a Truecaller event that the agency is working on improving the DND app experience for its users. While the regulatory authority didn’t go into details about the bugs, it said that an external agency has been roped in to help squash the bugs. TRAI DND App to Get Bug Fixes By March 2024
Speaking at the event hosted by Truecaller, Raghunandan said that the consumers are facing technical issues with the DND app. He also mentioned that TRAI is working on fixing these issues. According to a PTI report, the telecom regulatory has reportedly hired an external agency to fix the DND app bugs that have been reported and identified. The TRAI secretary also mentioned that there were issues with the DND app on some Android smartphones, which have been addressed to a large extent. TRAI is planning to make the app compatible with all Android devices by March 2024.
Moreover, the TRAI DND app is not compatible with iPhones, which prevents iOS users from benefiting from the advantages of the app. This is mainly because Apple doesn’t allow call log access to the app. The TRAI secretary assured that TRAI is actively working towards making the DND app compatible with iOS devices as well. However, the secretary didn’t reveal a timeline for the DND app for the iOS platform.
Raghunandan announced at the event that the number of pesky calls and texts in India has come down significantly, thanks to the improvements in the DND app. On the other hand, the Truecaller CEO Alan Mamedi said at the same event that the Truecaller app has more than 270 million active users in India with around 5 million spam calls reported daily on the app. With the TRAI DND app improving and becoming compatible with all Android devices in March as well as iPhones in the future, we can expect the number to reduce even further.

TRAI DND app is available to download on Google Play Store. Users can follow the steps below to download and install the TRAI DND 3.0 app.
- Go to the Play Store on your Android smartphone.
- Search for TRAI DND 3.0.
- Click on Install and wait for it to finish installing.
- Open the TRAI DND 3.0 app once installed.
- Finish OTP verification to sign in.
Your number will now be added under DND to avoid unsolicited calls and texts. However, if you still receive marketing or unsolicited SMS or calls after registering, you can report and register a complaint for the number with your telecom service provider from the app.
