Vi says that the new eSIM technology will allow for an eco-friendly, sustainable and faster connectivity experience. To avail of eSIM services, users require an eSIM-compatible smartphone or a smartwatch. The eSIM will enable a more seamless and convenient user experience, as per the company.
eSIMs allow for the usage of multiple numbers/connections on a device and switch seamlessly without going through the hassle of popping out and inserting SIM cards.
How to Use Vi eSIM on your Smartphone
The process of getting a Vi eSIM is pretty straightforward. Here’s what needs to be done.
- Text “eSIM email_id” to 199 from your existing Vi number.
- After receiving a confirmation message, reply with “ESIMY.” The confirmation message must be sent within 15 minutes.
- Users will receive a call from Vi to provide their consent to convert to eSIM.
- After the consent is provided, Vi will send a QR code via email.
- Head over to Setting -> Mobile Data -> Add data plan and scan the QR code.
- Within 30 minutes, the eSIM will be activated.
