Earlier this year, Vivo impressed everyone with its NEX flagship smartphone, boasting a cool pop-up selfie camera and a highly impressive screen-to-body ratio of 91.24%. As suggested by numerous leaks recently, the company is currently working on a successor to the NEX, likely dubbed NEX 2. An upcoming Vivo smartphone bearing the model number V1821A has now appeared on the Geekbench benchmark database, featuring a whopping 10GB of RAM. Since the Chinese smartphone maker does not appear to have any other flagship device in the pipeline, there is a good chance that it may be a variant of the upcoming NEX 2.

Vivo V1821A Geekbench Listing Reveals Snapdragon 845 SoC, 10GB of RAM

The Vivo V1821A, according to the Geekbench benchmark listing, will be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core chipset as its predecessor. In the memory department, however, V1821A will pack a massive 10GB of RAM. Vivo has not launched a smartphone with more than 8GB of RAM so far, so the NEX 2 might be the company’s first flagship device to feature 10GB of RAM. In terms of benchmark performance, the device managed a single-core score of 2,252 points and a multi-core score of 8,508 points. Both the scores are in line with what we expect from a smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset. On the software front, the device is currently being tested on the latest Android 9 Pie operating system.

Based on all the leaks that have surfaced online so far, the Vivo NEX 2 will feature two screens. Thanks to the second screen at the rear, a selfie camera on the front is no longer required, helping maximize the screen-to-body ratio. Users can capture selfies using the triple-camera setup on the back of the device. Apart from dual screens, the Vivo NEX 2 is also rumored to include 128GB of internal storage and is expected to run on Android Pie-based Funtouch OS out of the box. Vivo has officially confirmed that the smartphone will be launched in China on December 12, so we will not have to wait very long to find out everything about the next Vivo flagship.
