Vivo Y21A with Helio P22 SoC, 5,000mAh Battery Launched in India: Price, Specifications

Vivo Y21A offers a 13MP dual-rear camera setup.


Vivo is on a launch spree. The company has introduced yet another smartphone under its Y-series in the Indian market. The Vivo Y21A comes with a large HD+ display and a dual-rear camera setup. The successor of the Vivo Y20A is powered by an entry-level MediaTek Helio processor and a 5,000mAh battery.

The latest Vivo handset features a 6.51-inch HD+ LCD display with a 1600×720 pixel resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and about 89% screen to body ratio. The display houses the front shooter inside a waterdrop-shaped notch.

The Vivo Y21A is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor. The Helio P22 is fabbed using TSMC’s 12nm FinFET process and comes with an integrated IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The handset packs 4GB of RAM, 1GB extended RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. The Y21A boots Android 11 with the company’s proprietary FunTouchOS 11.1 skin on top.

The Vivo Y-series handset features a dual-rear camera setup and an LED flash. The primary sensor on the device is a 13MP shooter with an f/2.2 aperture. Accompanying it is a 2MP super macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture. It supports various photography modes such as Portrait, Panorama, Live Photo, and a Pro mode. It can also record slow-motion videos. For selfies, there is an 8MP shooter at the front.

The Vivo Y21A is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery and 18W fast charging support. The handset has a Type-C charging port, a dedicated micro-SD card slot, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5mm audio jack. In terms of connectivity, it offers Dual-SIM, 4G, VoLTE, 2.4GHz/5GHz WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS.

The Y21A measures 164.26×76.08×8.00mm, weighs 182grams, and features a plastic back and plastic frame. It packs an Ambient light sensor, Proximity Sensor, E-compass, and a Virtual gyroscope sensor. It comes in two colour options – Midnight Blue and Diamond Glow. The handset also offers various features such as Multi-Turbo 5.0, Ultra-Game mode, Easy Share, and iManager.
