We are aware of the news that Vivo is on track to expanding its Y-series smartphone lineup in India with an all-new device called the Vivo Y90. In fact, we had reported about the impending launch of this device just a few days ago. Back then, we only had bits and pieces of information regarding the Y90, its expected price, and the overall specifications of this device. In fact, all we knew about the Y90 back then was that it is an entry-level device with at least 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Anyway, the reason you’re reading about the Vivo Y90 once again is that we have new information regarding the phone thanks to our trusted source of leaks, Ishan Agarwal. Thanks to him, we now have the first-ever renders of the Vivo Y90 along with additional details regarding the specifications of the phone.
Thanks to the image shared to us by Ishan; we now know that the Vivo Y90 will feature a 6.2-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop notch at the top. This notch houses the front-facing camera which is expected to use a 5-megapixel sensor (not confirmed). This camera will be used for the Face unlock feature that the handset is confirmed to receive. At the rear, the handset gets a single camera which is likely to use an 8MP sensor. As evident from the image, the handset is confirmed to get either black or gold color schemes. The image also makes it clear that the Vivo Y90 will come with a 4,030 mAh battery inside.
While we do not yet know the chipset that the Y90 would use, our source confirms to us that it will be powered by an octa-core 12nm SoC with all eight cores clocked at 2GHz. By the looks of it, the Y90 might be offered in two versions- base 2GB+16GB version and a second 2GB+32GB variant. As expected of a Vivo, the Y90 will run the latest version if FunTouch OS which is based on an Android 9 Pie core.
