Samsung Launches AI Washer Dryer in India at ₹63,990 With No-Load Transfer and SmartThings Support

As India enters its peak festive buying season, Samsung has launched a new Bespoke AI Washer Dryer Combo aimed at simplifying laundry for modern urban households. The all-in-one machine offers a 12kg wash and 7kg dry capacity. It is designed for families who want smarter fabric care across all seasons, without the hassle of transferring clothes between appliances.

This launch comes at a time when washer-dryer combos are gaining momentum in India. According to Samsung's internal consumer study, more households are moving towards integrated laundry solutions to tackle challenges like limited drying space, unpredictable weather, and rising concerns around hygiene. With its new offering, Samsung hopes to tap into this shift while building on its strong brand perception in the premium home appliance space.

AI-Powered Features for Smarter Laundry

In the last couple of years, Samsung has been betting big on its AI ecosystem and the latest Bespoke AI Washer Dryer Combo is also built around Samsung's proprietary AI Wash system. Much like the earlier iteration, this machine also uses five-step sensing to analyze the weight, fabric type, and soil level in each load. Based on this, it adjusts detergent and water usage for optimal cleaning while minimizing waste. An Auto Dispense system ensures users don't need to measure detergent each time (a feature that I truly appreciate). Another interesting thing is that the machine is able to store enough detergent for up to a month of laundry, so all you need to do is add clothes and switch it on.

Samsung has also included its AI Ecobubble technology, which the company says improves soil removal by up to 20 percent without being harsh on fabrics. The AI Energy mode, powered by a digital inverter motor (with a 20-year warranty), promises up to 70 percent lower power consumption. Combined with AI Control and SmartThings compatibility, the machine can learn your habits and automate regular wash cycles for added ease.

On the fabric care side, the Air Wash mode helps deodorise and freshen clothes without using water, while the Wrinkle Prevent setting cuts down on the need for ironing after the wash. And with the SuperSpeed function, a full load can be completed in under 40 minutes , which a lot of people solid short on time will appreciate. Personally, I'm a big fan of quick wash features. They're a lifesaver on hectic days. That said, I do feel 40 minutes is slightly on the longer side. Some washer-dryer combos from Haier, for example, offer 15-minute cycles, which I've found much more practical. Your laundry is done before you even finish getting ready.

Why Washer Dryer Combos Are on the Rise

Until recently, washer-dryers were seen as a niche category in India. But the segment is now evolving quickly, driven by changing urban lifestyles. With space at a premium in city homes and monsoons making line-drying difficult, these all-in-one machines offer a practical solution. This is especially true for people living in coastal cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru, where humidity levels remain high for most of the year. For them, it means no more pushing laundry day to when the sun's out, and no more clothes that carry that damp, musty smell.

Consumers today, who are also more conscious of energy use and time savings, are also increasingly looking for solutions like a washer-dryer.

The growing popularity of these machines is also driven by a shift in lifestyle patterns. Dual-income families, shared apartments, and smaller households are increasingly leaning towards appliances that reduce chores without compromising on care. The festive season further amplifies this demand, as many consumers time major appliance purchases during ongoing Navratri-Diwali offers and exchange deals.

In fact, some reports suggest that the GST Council is considering reducing taxes on premium appliances such as washer-dryers and dishwashers. In the current scheme of things, it stands at 28% and it is expected to come down to 18%. This move could further accelerate adoption across Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities.

Availability and Pricing

The Samsung Bespoke AI Washer Dryer Combo (12kg/7kg) is available now across Samsung.com, leading retail stores, Amazon, and Flipkart, with prices starting at ₹63,990.

This pricing places Samsung competitively in a segment where LG, BSH, and IFB are also active with AI-powered or large-capacity machines. However, Samsung's value proposition lies in its ecosystem approach, which is that it is offering SmartThings integration, personalization, and strong after-sales support.

MSP’s Take

Samsung has been making aggressive strides in the premium washer-dryer segment for the last couple of years. We feel that it is a well-timed move that is coupled with smart packaging. The specs and AI smarts show a clear understanding of what Indian families need: time savings, fabric care, and weather-independent drying. With GST cuts potentially on the horizon and rising interest in home automation, this launch may help solidify Samsung's foothold in the connected appliance space beyond refrigerators and air conditioners.
