Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is readying a second toned down version of the flagship Xiaomi Mi 11 smartphone in India. The device is apparently called the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite NE, and it has appeared on multiple certification databases already. According to Polish leakster Kacper Skrzypek, the device is codenamed ‘Lisa’ and was spotted on the IMEI database under the name Xiaomi Mi 11 NE. It has also been seen in the BIS Certification database, as shown in the screenshot below. The global model number for the device — 2109119DG — also appeared on the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), Singapore website, as shown in the second screenshot below. We unfortunately don’t have any photos of the actual device just yet.

Xiaomi Mi 11 NE specs, features and price

While we do not know the full specs of the device yet, the three databases do confirm that this is a 5G device with NFC support. In his tweet, Skrzypek said that the device will likely come with the Snapdragon 778G chipset, a chipset that Qualcomm had announced in May. It’s one of the first 6nm chipsets from the company, and is also expected on the Samsung Galaxy A52 and the A52 5G, which currently run on the Snapdragon 720G and 750G chipsets. These devices are priced in the Rs. 20-30,000 bracket, so we would expect the pricing to be in this range for the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite NE as well.

Leaked Geekbench benchmark results for the Snapdragon 778G showed single core scores of 771 and multi-core at 2788, which is about what we expect from the 700 series chipsets from Qualcomm. The ‘G’ moniker also suggests that the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite NE will have some gaming optimizations, and may be targeted at users who play games like Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), but can’t afford a flagship-class smartphone.

The device is also expected to have an AMOLED display, though we will have to wait to find out whether it’s the same panel as the one seen on the flagship Mi 11 smartphone. Xiaomi also sells a Mi 11 Lite in India, priced at Rs. 21,999, so it’s likely that the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite NE will be priced at between Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 30,000.

Further, Xiaomi is taking the device global, as it also appeared on the Russian EEC website last week, which means that the company will have to keep a healthy supply of the device. It’s also listed on the Google One website.
