Xiaomi is set to host a global launch event on October 4, where it is set to launch its next flagship smartphones. Taking to Twitter, Xiaomi’s global Twitter handle tipped the launch of the expected Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro. According to expectations, the launch event is likely to unveil the Xiaomi 12T Pro with a 200MP image sensor on the rear, which is what its “Make moments mega” marketing teaser likely alludes to.

What the Xiaomi 12T, 12T Pro May Offer

Prior to the confirmation from Xiaomi’s official Twitter handle, the teaser poster was leaked online yesterday, suggesting the impending launch of the smartphone. According to the leaked design renders of the smartphone, the Xiaomi 12T series is likely to offer a Lunar Silver colour option — among other features.

In terms of the key expected specifications, the Xiaomi 12T Pro is tipped to feature the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC, while an 8GB RAM variant has already been spotted on Geekbench. It is, however, likely that the device will come with higher RAM variants too, including at least a 12GB model. Internal storage should also at least be offered in a 256GB variant, while the ‘Pro’ tag might mean a 512GB variant in global markets may not be out of the question.

The key feature of the 12T Pro is expected to be a 200MP primary rear camera, which could be the Samsung ISOCELL HP1 image sensor that has already been spotted in the Moto Edge 30 Ultra. This could be a part of a triple rear camera setup, which may also include an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP depth sensor. To the front, the smartphone might feature a 20MP front camera.

In terms of the display, a 6.67-inch full HD+ AMOLED display is expected, which should offer at least 120Hz refresh rate. Dolby Vision and HDR10+ certifications are also tipped to be offered, justifying the premium flagship positioning of the smartphone. Finally, the smartphone could be powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging, while Harman Kardon branded speakers are also expected to be offered.

The Xiaomi 12T, on the other hand, could get the same display, RAM and storage variants, but offer a 108MP primary rear camera. It is also expected to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC, which could be the main differences between the two variants.
