What is the reason this phone is automatically downloading system updates?
Any Android phone will do this by default, but it will be installed only when you hit the install button. So, no need to worry. Moreover, you can change this option to "not to download without permission." And one more advice, this model has an irritating problem, when you upgraded to version "M", it will not install further updates. It is a very big problem in this model. It also has microphone issue, sometimes others can't hear our voice, it will be fixed only after restarting the device. They may fix this with the update, but as I told you earlier it will not accept updates if you are on Android "M". So if you are planning to buy a mobile then avoid this model.

That depends on the custom settings when Asus team releases the new system updates automatically it will be updated. If you don't want to system update automatically, you can change your custom settings. Check these settings: Settings>System Update>Auto-Download system upadte>Don't auto-download system update.

I think the auto update of apps is ON in the Google Play Store. So go to settings of Play Store and turn it off. And go to phone settings --> system update and the option will appear "Auto download System update". Click on it and then click on "Don't Auto download System update". Over.

Actually, Asus sends frequent updates for which you can experience lag after installing them in your device. Better stop downloading updates and enjoy the device. Please make sure that automatic updates are not turned on in your mobile. Otherwise, it will download updates automatically.

The system update is to add new innovative features which are good, and it depends on the settings if you have set it to automatically download updates. If you don't wish to do it automatically, you can change it in the settings.

How is the battery backup of this phone?
If you use it only for normal operations (call, messages), battery will last even up to 3 days. If you use Internet (Wi-Fi or Cell data) throughout the day, battery will last up to a day and you may require to charge it again the next day morning. However it has a Super saving mode where your phone runs with less battery for almost 8-9 hours.

After switching to 4G, battery consumption is more. So, now it is not good as this phone was originally manufactured for 3G services for better performance. But as time passes, technology also upgrades. This phone is unable to withstand even for 8 hours.

If you use internet, music, games, then it sucks more battery, and you have to charge it again after 16-17 hours. But if not more than that, then it has very good battery backup above 24 hours easily.

At staring it was too good. But as everyone knew if we use the internet definitely, then it will decrease. For me, it lasts up to one and a half day, if I charge it completely, but it was good.
By o.madhuri069, 31 months ago

Battery backup is average. If you are a normal user then the battery will last a day. If you are a heavy user like me, then the battery will not last one full day, but it performs well.

How is the RAM performance of this phone?
It's good. It works alright, but when your phone memory is about to get full it lags a little bit. Otherwise this phone is the best. It has an awesome clarity for photography. Even, it has depth field effect which iPhone 7 Plus has, it is not very nice but it works fine.

The RAM Performance is good. Battery life is good for 6 months, after that my phone battery deads in 3 hours even if I charge it to 100%. And the phone is outdated. So I don't suggest to buy this phone now. For 12k, you can buy a better phone than this.

It was good until and unless 4G and VoLTE like technologies were not there, but after switching to 4G SIM and VoLTE it hangs a lot. I am unable to call even a single person from my phone, it takes too much time to dial the number.

I have been using this phone for more than a year now. RAM performance is good. I do not play heavy games on this phone, so I do not experience any lag. Multitasking is smooth. I have many apps running at the same time.

RAM performance is very poor. The overall performance of this phone is worse than my previous handsets. I had to purchase a new mobile within a year as Asus mobile became useless.

Does it support Jio SIM?
Yes absolutely, ze550kl supports Jio its VoLTE supported mobile phone but some sellers selling at 8499rs. Be careful that's not Indian VoLTE supported brand you will have to go to Asus service centre for registration if you buy that mobile.
By sainim007, 31 months ago

Yeah, but you should update it to the available latest OS to get VoLTE support. The OS that you get by default won't support VoLTE. Latest software fixes that issue and it's available on the Asus website.
By jithinalx, 27 months ago

Yes, it supports Jio SIM in slot 1 but no VoLTE. If you upgrade to VoLTE then all apps stay on the phone memory and cannot be transferred to the external storage card.

Yes. But you need to be online to make/receive calls and only through JioVoice call app. No issues while using the internet.
By arunothayam.sabari63, 31 months ago

Yes, but only for the internet, not for calls. It only supports calls when we download Jio4Gvoice app.

Which one is better between Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime and Asus Zenfone 2 Laser?
I have no idea about Prime, but Zenfone 2 Laser has good specs, but it's not durable. The problem starts after 1-year, I bought two mobiles. But the same Motherboard issue occurred in both the mobile phones.

Zenfone 2 Laser is a good phone but has some issues like when there is a bulk of load it used to freeze. However, it has a good camera and battery backup. But I think Redmi Note Prime is better.

Asus is way better is performance and heating issues. ZenFone series is so reliable that I have used ZenFone 4 and upgraded to laser 2 5.5". I recommend going to ASUS.

Regarding performance, Redmi prime is the best. But Asus has a removable battery and separate slot for SD card and SIMs. Regarding looks, Asus is the best.

Regarding looks, Asus Zenfone 2 Laser is good. But it's performance is very poor. Just after six months of use, the phone's performance slowed down.
