On the front, the device consists of large bezels surrounding the display, and concentric circles with brushed metallic finish at the bottom. The back of the device has a removable panel with faux leather texture over it. The device measures 156 x 77.5 x 10.6mm and weighs a hefty 202 grams. The Asus Zenfone Max is available in black and white colour variant.
Display & Camera
The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch HD IPS display that produces bright colours and crisp images. The screen features Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection that ensures the display remains scratch-free and resistant to drops up to an extent. Users can enjoy games and videos over the big screen. In terms of imaging, the Asus Zenfone Max, like the Zenfone 2 Laser, sports a 13-megapixel rear-facing shooter paired laser autofocus, which Asus promises, focuses in 0.03 seconds. The camera comes coupled with dual-tone LED flash which helps in capturing images and recording videos even in dark conditions. The rear-facing camera can record videos upto full-HD (1920x1080) resolution. Overall the camera delivers decent images with a number of bundled modes to help users in every condition. On the front, pleasing all selfie lovers, there is a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter with f/2.0 aperture to help in low-light conditions.
Software & Performance
The Asus Zenfone Max runs outdated Android 5.0 Lollipop wrapped under the Asus ZenUI, but the device can be upgraded to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow through the OTA provided by Asus. The ZenUI unlike other Chinese manufacturers features an application drawer and plenty of added features over the stock OS.  Under the hood, there is a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset holding four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.2GHz, that keeps everything under control and ensures smooth sailing. The Asus Zenfone Max is equipped with 2GB of RAM that helps in multitasking, working on multiple apps at the same time is not expected to slow down the device. The device comes with 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card.
Battery & Connectivity
The highlight of the device is its massive battery, the smartphone is backed up by a 5000 mAh Li-Ion cell which the company claims can keep the device functioning for more than a day with moderate to heavy usage. It can also charge other smartphones through its microUSB port, the device comes bundled with a USB OTG cable to take advantage of this feature. The device is rated to provide 38 hours of talk time on 3G network. Does it have any issues with Jio network?
Hello Sir, It doesn't have any issues with the network, but I would recommend you not to buy this phone as it hangs a lot. It's very slow as compared to lower budget phones like Redmi. Moreover, as it's a very old model, you won't even get the accessories like covers and cases easily. I also have an issue with the mic, sometimes the caller is not able to hear my voice clearly; not because of the network issues, but because of the mic. To be honest, go with Redmi for better results. Thanks.

Please don't buy this phone. It works well in the beginning, and then later it gets worse.

No, not at all. It is a 4G handset and performs very brilliantly on all of the networks.

No, but you have to use Jio4GVoice because it is not a 4G VoLTE phone.

Is this phone for urban area use, does it have good network availability?
Yes, it has good network availability, but this phone hangs a lot. It's a very slow phone, which hangs every moment. I have reset the phone to factory default twice. At the initial stage, it works good, but after installing basic apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, it becomes slow. Even the camera hangs a lot. I would recommend not to go for this phone.

Yes, sure. You can carry it anywhere in the country. It is very good in connectivity and no need to bother about any network issue, for sure. I purchased, used and sold it at a good price. Just yesterday, I booked another Asus for my brother-in-law on my guarantee. You can also go for it with no doubt at all.

Yes, Asus is an international brand and has amazing features. It has a great battery backup, but it weighs little heavier. Go ahead and buy it, you will never regret.

Does it support 64GB external memory card and OTG?
Yes, it does support. I have a Samsung 64GB memory card, and it's working fine. Don't buy SanDisk memory card as I have used both. But SanDisk unmounts itself because it's too thin, so don't buy SanDisk, go for Samsung. You will also get an OTG cable in the box.

Which one is better between Gionee P7 and Asus Zenfone max?
Both have their benefits and drawbacks. Personally, I prefer the Zenfone Max because of the UI which is very powerful and lets you control many things under the hood easily. The launcher is also very powerful and has many features not found on many other phones.

Does it have a better camera than Redmi 4 mobile?
Sure, it has a much better camera than Redmi 4. In fact, it is much better because it has laser within its camera block and thus it clicks the pictures much faster than any other mobile.

After using for 5 months ,I am writing this review. This phone is best under Rs. 8500, sometimes it hangs, screen will not work properly during an incoming call and camera quality of back camera is really not good, it doesn't give the feeling of 13MP but front camera is amazing, inbuilt features are also awesome.
