The Redmi 5A is one of the best entry-level smartphones offered by Xiaomi. Its battery backup is wonderful, and the display quality is quite satisfactory. While a fingerprint scanner and better cameras could have helped, these aren't major concerns considering how affordable this handset is. It certainly gets our recommendation for someone looking for a basic smartphone to get the job done.

The Samsung Galaxy A2 Core is a classic example of what phones were available in the budget range before the Chinese wave of smartphone makers like Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo entered India. Lava Z1 is an affordable budget offering from the brand that packs decent specifications. Some of the device's notable features include a decent camera configuration, the good expandable storage capacity of up to 256GB, and a 3100mAh user-replaceable battery. The low-resolution TFT display and 2GB RAM are certainly its low points. Given the price point, it makes a reasonable purchase.
