The Realme X 8GB comes powered by the Snapdragon 710 AIE SoC that is based on a 10nm manufacturing process. This chipset houses an octa-core CPU with eight Kryo 360 cores. The phone also gets the Adreno 616 GPU for graphics. The Realme X 8GB comes with 8GB of RAM and happens to be the pricer of the two versions of the phone that is on sale in India. There is a more affordable version of the phone that comes with 128GB of storage and 4GB of RAM. This handset features a large 6.53-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2340x 1080 pixels in the 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display lacks a notch thanks to the pop-up front-facing camera mechanism. The Realme X 8GB also gets an in-display fingerprint scanner as an added security layer.

The Realme X 8GB RAM features a dual-camera setup at the rear panel that consists of a 48-megapixel primary camera mated to an f/1.8 lens. The primary camera uses pixel binning to output 12-megapixel images and supports several modes including Chroma Boost and Super Nightscape. The secondary camera used on the Realme X 8GB is a 5-megapixel camera that is used to gather depth information.  At the front, the Realme X 8GB RAM features a 16-megapixel sensor that is mated to a fixed focus lens with f/2.0 aperture. The front-facing camera supports portrait modes and has an AI-based intelligent beauty mode as well. The Realme X supports video recording at up to 4K resolution using the rear camera.

The Realme X 8GB RAM comes with a decently sized 3,765mAh battery with support for 20W fast charging with VOOC Flash Charge. The phone is dual-SIM capable and supports 4G VoLTE networks.  Connectivity options include Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, and BeiDou. Apart from these, the phone also supports Bluetooth 5.0, aptX, aptX HD and LDAC. As the case is with all Realme devices, the Realme X 8GB RAM also runs ColorOS 6 atop an Android 9 Pie core.
