Does it have any heating or hanging issues?
It does get little warm if you use the 4G network and when you are on a voice call or video call. Overall, it performs well and does not hang unless you play high-end graphics games and do heavy multitasking. It starts to lag if the battery dips below 20%, so I would prefer to use on a power saving mode.

No, as the device is new, you won't face any problem. But as you use the device for 1-year, then you start to experience small issues like heating while charging. But it is negligible, so go with this phone. It is worth for every penny spent on it, I'm saying this from my experience.

You can't avoid heating in multi-cored processors even in the best brands. Usage must be in such a way to ensure less heat. Processing must be configured optimally to avoid overheating. Don't use in very less signal coverage area, hot ambient conditions and for long durations.

In hot summer, any phone might become hot. But if you use in normal weather, they work fine. I didn't have any problem or issue while using my Redmi 2 Prime. It's an outstanding and a great phone. Thanks.

It heats a little bit while playing games for a long time or recording videos. It has no hanging problem. If you are going to buy Redmi 2 then buy Redmi Y1 Lite new model or the upgraded one.

Does it support VoLTE?
Yes, as suggested by users in Mi forums, Redmi 2 Prime has VoLTE capability in lollipop version of MIUI Android. VoLTE is needed as Reliance Jio is about to launch it's LTE service in India by March-April 2016. Jio doesn’t have any native fallback network for voice calls. So, without a VoLTE your phone would be used for data only even if all the LTE bands (i.e. 3,5,40) are supported by your phone.

Yes, it does support VoLTE with the Jio in Redmi 2 Prime. Actually, VoLTE is not supported in Redmi 2 Prime with the Android KitKat version, but it does support with the higher Android version Lollipop. You can enable VoLTE by upgrading the ROM from official MIUI site.

I didn't personally tested it with EKYC Biometric, but it has an OTG Support where I can connect my 64GB pendrive for storing data & it's works superb. It will surely support EKYC Biometric machine.

Does it have a hybrid slot?
No, it doesn't have one, but overall the phone is quite good, keeping the price range in mind. Though it supports 4G, it's not a VoLTE handset.

No, you can normally use two Nano SIMs and memory card at the same time. Two slots for the SIMs and one for the memory card. Thanks.

It has two SIM slots with 4G. But when you enable 4G VoLTE, then sometimes there is an issue in the network.
By vishkhatri09, 16 months ago

does it support Jio SIM?
Yes, it supports Jio SIM but without internet you cannot call. When you 'ON' the internet your mobile starts heating immediately. So, please do not buy. I advice you to purchase Redmi 3S or Redmi 4A

Nice for short time usage..!!
By pratap.raana77, 21 months ago
It is nice for short time usage. Its lifetime is 2 years. The camera is ok. It takes almost 3 hours to charge and the battery lasts for 5 hours, if you use 4G net+music continuously. There is heating problem.
