Xiaomi Redmi 3

China-based smartphone maker Xiaomi looks to revive its lost attention with the introduction of the latest Redmi device. One of the highlights of the device is that it comes with a 4,100 mAh battery which is nearly twice than that of the Redmi 2. Moreover, the Xiaomi Redmi 3 sports a metal body that translates a premium look.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3 features a 5-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection that protects the device from scratches. The screen on the device is bright and is also legible when placed under the sun. Also, the big screen is expected to provide a unique visual experience.

On the software front, the smartphone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with MIUI 7 on top. Under the hood, the device is expected to deliver seamless performance along with smooth multitasking as it is powered by a 1.7 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM. For storage, one can use the 16GB of internal storage space which can further be expanded using the expansion slot. However, the expansion slot is a Hybrid dual-SIM slot.

One can click stunning images in both bright and dull light conditions using the 13-megapixel rear camera paired with an LED flash while the 5-megapixel front shooter can be used for selfies and video calling. There are additional modes including HDR, panorama, face and smile detection and autofocus to add more flavour to your images.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3 makes its mark with an array of connectivity options including two SIM slots, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and a microUSB 2.0 port. There is a 4,100 mAh cell that ensures that you don't run out of power anytime soon. The battery on the device also comes with fast charging facility which was also seen on the Redmi 2.

Despite reflecting a premium look and feel, the Xiaomi Redmi 3 is an entry-level device.
