As we near the end of 2025, it becomes evident each day that we are entering an era of smartphone performance once considered out of reach. To put things straight, November is scheduled with prominent flagship unveilings, capable of delivering console-quality gaming and seamless multitasking on the go. Among all the brands racing to blow people’s minds, Realme is gearing up to launch its crown jewel very soon. The GT 8 Pro, the phone in question, is tipped to hit the Indian shore on 20 November. Going by its initial report, it is shaping up to be Realme’s boldest move yet, combining cutting-edge hardware with long-overdue attention to optics. So, let’s take a closer look at why we should be counting the days to its arrival and what it actually offers.
If we rewind the clock slightly, Realme made headlines yesterday with its post on X that the GT 8 Pro is headed to Flipkart this November.

It is great news for tech enthusiasts who love unbridled performance, as its launch day isn’t far off. And truth to be told, the excitement is justified, considering the GT 8 Pro is poised to rival the best in its class with specifications unheard of on a Realme smartphone. For those unaware, it has already been unveiled in China, revealing most of its feature set. Looking back at history, the brand is not known for differentiating its India-bound smartphone from the Chinese variant in terms of features. So, it is safe to expect that the Indian-specific GT 8 Pro will boast the same specifications as its Chinese counterpart.
The first sign of significant overhauls on the new Realme flagship is its design, which includes a new camera island on the rear. At first glance, it appears robot-inspired. However, don’t confuse it with an ordinary camera enclosure, as this one allows users to attach different interchangeable housings. Aside from this, the GT 8 Pro will come in three colours: White, Blue, and Green. Another major upgrade lies in the battery department, as it packs a massive 7,000 mAh, a significant increase from the 5,800 mAh of its predecessor.
The cameras also follow a similar path of substantial improvement, as Realme has now given equal attention to the optics on the GT 8 Pro as to its other aspects. To begin with, the brand has collaborated with Ricoh, a prominent Japanese multinational imaging and electronics company, to fine-tune camera performance, including anti-glare performance, resolving power, and minimal distortion, for clear, true-to-life images.
Hardware-wise, the GT 8 Pro has a 50-megapixel 1/1.56-inch primary camera, a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and 6x lossless zoom, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 32-megapixel front camera. If we focus purely on the numbers, it’s not only a huge step up from the GT 7 Pro, but it also stands head-to-head with the OPPO Find X9 Pro, the seemingly new king of the smartphone camera landscape. However, a real-world test will better help us gauge the real positioning.

Speaking of the display, the GT 8 Pro features a 6.79-inch QHD+ AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 7,000 nits. That said, it is now time to shift our focus to something the Realme GT series has gained popularity for over the past few years — performance. At the heart of this spec monster lies the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor — a mouthful of a name — but it has serious potential.
For starters, it offers massive improvements in Ray Tracing performance, bringing console-grade visuals and features like the Unreal 5 support to mobile gaming. If we talk about AI, it is configured to operate Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI agents locally on the phone. As a result, features like real-time summarisation, advanced photo editing, and code generation execute instantly without searching the internet. Moreover, it supports an Agentic AI that can independently perform menial tasks in apps after analysing users’ habits.
Previously, Realme focused on making its flagship phones capable in every area but truly exceptional in performance, a formula that defined the GT lineup. This time, though, things feel different. With the GT 8 Pro, Realme seems ready to build a flagship that isn’t just fast but genuinely complete. Its biggest rival, the OPPO Find X9 Pro, has already raised expectations with its powerful Dimensity 9500 chip, 200MP telephoto camera, and massive 7,500mAh battery, all packed inside a sleek and practical design.

It showed that top-tier performance can go hand in hand with refinement. Realme now faces the challenge of matching that level of finesse while keeping its edge in performance. If the GT 8 Pro lives up to the early signs, it could not only stand beside the Find X9 Pro but also mark Realme’s true step into the flagship territory.
