Google is bringing its latest Fitbit wearable to India, with the Google Fitbit Air set to go on sale in the country from October 2. Priced at Rs. 13,999, the screenless fitness tracker is designed to provide continuous health and activity tracking without the distractions of a conventional smartwatch display.
The Fitbit Air is positioned as Google’s smallest and lightest Fitbit tracker yet. Instead of displaying notifications or health information directly on the device, it collects data through its sensors and delivers the insights through the Google Health app on a connected smartphone. Google says the approach is intended to make 24/7 health tracking more lightweight and distraction-free.
Fitbit Air focuses on health and sleep tracking
The Google Fitbit Air includes sensors for continuous heart monitoring, supporting 24/7 heart-rate tracking, resting heart rate, and heart-rate variability. It can also alert you to irregular heart rhythms associated with atrial fibrillation, according to Google.
Sleep tracking is another major focus. The tracker records sleep stages and duration, with its compact form factor designed to be worn overnight. It also supports blood oxygen monitoring and automatic activity detection, which can learn a user’s routines over time.
Battery life is rated at up to seven days on a single charge. Google also says that five minutes of fast charging can provide enough power for a full day of use.
The tracker works with Google’s Health Coach, which uses the data collected from the wearable to provide personalised guidance and help users build daily health and fitness habits. Users can automatically log workouts, follow guided sessions and even photograph gym equipment or workout routines to record activities, according to the company.
Three band options and India pricing
The Fitbit Air uses an interchangeable pebble-style design and will be offered with different band options. The Performance Loop Band, which is included with the device, is designed to be lightweight and breathable and uses recycled materials. Buyers can also choose an Active Band made from sweat-resistant silicone for workouts, or an Elevated Modern Band aimed at everyday wear.
In India, the Google Fitbit Air will be priced at Rs. 13,999 and will be available in four colour options: Obsidian, Berry, Lavender and Fog. The device will be sold through the Google Store as well as retail and e-commerce partners including Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital and Vijay Sales.
Every purchase includes a three-month trial of Google Health Premium, which provides access to the full Google Health Coach experience.
Google is also offering launch-period payment benefits, including Rs. 1,000 cashback on full-swipe transactions. Eligible HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank cardholders can alternatively receive Rs. 1,000 cashback with a six-month no-cost EMI. No-cost EMI options of up to 12 months are also available through consumer loans.
