Design and Specifications
The Micromax Canvas 4 has a candybar body with a brilliant 5-inch touchscreen 1280X720 resolution. The device runs on Android v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system with Micromax's custom skin. The phone sports a quad-core MediaTek MT6589 chipset accompanied by a 1 GB of RAM, making the device very fast. The phone has dual-SIM functionality, which means you can manage two SIM cards on the same phone at the same time. The phone comes in two color variants, Black and White.
Camera and Multimedia
The phone sports an amazing 13-megapixel camera with LED flash. The phone has all basic focusing features that can be found amongst smartphones these days, like touch to focus. The camera can record full HD videos. Also, it comes with features such as Beautify, which enhances picture you've taken to make them look better in terms of lighting conditions and focusing. The device also features a 5-megapixel front shooter for video calling.
The device supports audio and video formats such as WMV, MP4, 3GP, 3G2, MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA, and WAV.
Connectivity and Features
The Micromax Canvas 4 has connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0 for file transferring and audio streaming and microUSB 2.0 for transferring data across devices. The phone also supports 2G, 3G, EDGE and GPRS connectivity. The phone can also be used as a Wi-Fi hotspot device which allows you to share your mobile data across other devices. The phone comes with Google bundled apps such as Youtube, Gmail, Maps, Latitude and many more. The device also has a couple of Micromax's exclusive apps pre-installed, like M! Live.
Battery and Storage
The 2500 mAh battery on the Canvas 4 is good enough to last an entire day on a charge, and the device comes with 8 GB internal memory. This can be further extended to 32 GB using the microSD card slot.
