Design and Specification
The Nokia 500 is a budget Symbian phone and has a bar form factor. With a TFT powered capacitive touchscreen of 3.2 inches, it has a maximum resolution of 360x640 pixels. The Nokia 500 weighs about 90 grams and is powered by a 1 GHz ARM11 processor with 256MB of RAM and runs on Nokia's Symbian Belle Operating System.
Camera and Multimedia
The 500 packs a 5 Megapixel camera which can deliver photos up to 2592x1944 pixels. Video recording is possible at QVGA resolution and comes with features like Geo-tagging. There is no secondary front facing camera and the supported Audio formats are MP3, WAV, eAAC and WMA and MP4, H.264 and DivX, XviD, MP4 and WMV video formats. The 500 comes with 2 exchangeable battery covers in the box.
Connectivity and Features
The Nokia 500 supports quad band networks on both 2G and 3G and supports maximum speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps on HSDPA and up to 5.76 Mbps on HSUPA. The 500 comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a micro USB 2.0 connector slot. Quick office document viewer and Adobe Reader are preinstalled.
Battery and Memory
It packs an 1100mAh Li-Ion battery and has a standby time of up to 500 hours and talk time of up to 7 hours on a 2G network. It has 2GB of internal storage with an expandable storage of up to 32GB on micro SD.
