Hardware and Specifications
The Galaxy Trend Duos will take over from the Galaxy Y Duos as the most affordable mobile from Samsung in India. Samsung is targeting Micromax's Canvas Fun series with this mobile. The device features a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor along with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB of internal memory. A micro-SD card facilitates the extension of storage to 32 GB.
Screen and Design
The Galaxy Trend Duos features a similar design to other devices in the Galaxy series, and comes with a physical home button, along with soft menu and back buttons. The Galaxy Trend Duos comes with a 4.1-inch screen with a WVGA resolution of 800 x 480, which gives out a pixel density of 233 ppi.
Camera and Multimedia
This device features a 3.15 MP camera that comes with the ability to shoot videos. Considering the budget nature of the device, it lacks a front facing camera that would've come in handy for video calls.
Software and Features
Samsung is bundling Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with the device, which gives users access to Google's Play Store, from which they can download a multitude of games and other utilities. Samsung also includes a host of custom software on their devices, and has done so on the Galaxy Trend Duos as well. The mobile features ChatON, Samsung Sync and other services that are a mainstay in all Samsung Galaxy devices.
Connectivity and Battery
The device lacks 3G, but will connect to Wi-Fi networks. The 1,500 mAh battery will last an entire day, and has been claimed to give over 10 hours of talk time, which should come in handy.
