Aayo Pokecon 2022: Marcos Gaming Wins India’s First Pokemon Unite Lan Event

Marcos Gaming beats S8UL esports in the Aayo Pokecon LAN finals to clinch the championship title of India's first Pokemon Unite LAN event.

Marcos Gaming has emerged as the champion of India’s first-ever Pokemon Unite LAN event, the AAYO Pokecon event organized by Crowd Control Esports. The team dominated the tournament and went on to the Finals without losing a single match in the LAN Finals. Fan-favourite team, S8UL fought hard but ended up as the runner-up in the tournament.

Marcos Gaming has showcased an excellent performance by outplaying each team in every match they competed. A total of eight teams qualified for the Finals. Crowd Control Esports, the event’s organizers held the finals as a LAN-line event from 21 October to 23 October at Gaur Stadium, Noida. Following are the teams that have advanced to the Finals from the League Stage:

  • The Esportswala
  • Gods Reign
  • Enigma Gaming
  • Chemin Esports
  • Marcos Gaming

Marcos Gaming Wins AAYO Pokecon, India’s First Pokemon Unite LAN

Marcos Gaming defeated Revenant Esports and Gods Reign before advancing to the finals. The team outperformed Revenant Esports with a 2-1 scoreline and had the edge over the latter one with a 2-0 scoreline. With that, they went on to the Upper-Bracket finals directly and were pitted against S8UL Esports.

S8UL esports defeated Enigma Gaming and True Rippers before coming to the Upper-Bracket Finals. During the upper-bracket finals, it was Marcos Gaming who had the upper hand in the Upper-Bracket finals and S8UL faced a defeat for the first time in the LAN. The team had another choice to make it to the finals with the Lower-bracket finals where they had to face Revenant Esports.

Revenant Esports have paved their way into the Lower-bracket finals by defeating teams like Esportswala, True Rippers, and God’s Reign. However, the team lost to S8UL in the Lower-Bracker Finals which gave S8UL a road to the Finals.

But in the Finals, Marcos Gaming had the upper hand against Team S8UL and conquered the title with domination. Marcos Gaming has multiple teams in various gaming titles. Last month, Marcos Gaming has been disqualified from the COC World Championship 2022 (Clash Worlds 2022) Stage 4 Qualifier due to visa issues.

AAYO Pokecon Prize Pool Distribution

The tournament was announced with a massive prize pool of Rs 10 Lakhs. Over 100 teams were registered for the tournament, but only eight advanced to the finals. The championship began on 24 September and it is the largest third-party event in the history of the Indian Pokemon community. A total of Rs 10 Lakhs prize pool is distributed among the teams as follows:

  1. Marcos Gaming – Rs 4 Lakhs
  2. S8UL Esports – Rs 2 Lakhs
  3. Revenant Esports – Rs 3 Lakhs
  4. Gods Reign – Rs 50000
  5. Chemin Esports – Rs 25000
  6. True Rippers – Rs 15000
  7. Enigma Gaming – Rs 10000
  8. The Esportswala – Rs 5000

The finals had seen some special sessions with some of the country’s top gaming influencers and a cosplay competition alongside NFTs, and Fanarts.

Crowd Control Esports is an Indian Esports organization that CCE had arranged over 25 esports tournaments and events of various genres in the last two years. They also initiated multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) esports in India, hosting championships for MOBAs such as Arena of Valor, DoTA2, League of Legends WildRift and others.
