Apex Legends revolutionized Battle Royale with dynamic characters, thrilling gameplay, and innovative features, setting new standards for the genre. The game is known for epic crossovers, and events and a new collaboration is set upon us. Apex Legends is collaborating with Square Enix’s action RPG game, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth.
The announcement which no one was expecting, was made during the Game Awards 2023 Show with a crossover trailer. The trailer showcased a blend of new skins coming to the game as part of the collaboration.

The viewers were shocked to see the new collaboration announcement at The Game Awards. As seen in the trailer, it is coming to Apex Legends on January 9, 2024, and will feature cosmetics related to the upcoming Square Enix game.

The collaboration trailer featured upcoming cosmetic additions for Wraith, Horizon, and Crypto, featuring outfits inspired by Final Fantasy. Notably, Crypto showcases a Cloud Strife skin, Horizon adopts Aerith’s attire, and Wraith transforms into Vincent Valentine. We may also expect to see more outfits for other legends from FF7 once the collab goes live.

According to Thordan Smash, Apex Legends will have 6 iconic skins for Newcastle, wraith, Horizon, Crypto, Wattson, and Valk in the game. It is expected a new game mode might be introduced with this event, following Respawn’s past patterns. If they do, it is expected that Crypto, wielding the Buster Sword, could be specific to that mode and not a permanent addition to the game.
The sad news is that we did not know how these cosmetics would be obtained in Apex Legends. Although the game occasionally offers prize trackers for themed items, it’s also plausible that Horizon, Crypto, and Wraith’s new skins may solely be accessible through the in-game shop using Apex Coins. However, we should wait for more information about the event from Respawn.
The collaboration will take place in Apex Legends Season 19: Ignite, which released on October 31. The season has introduced a new legend titled Conduit and is set to conclude in Feb next year.
The Game Awards also showcased a new trailer for Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth which introduces a brand new theme song. Square Enix officially confirmed Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s release window in September 2023. The game is set to launch on February 29, 2024. Apex Legends has engaged in noteworthy collaborations with various games, introducing crossover events and themed content. The game has notable collaboration with popular individuals, movies, TV shows, and video games like Titanfall, Batman, One Piece, FIFA 22 and More.
