Apple is working on its Apple Watch lineup for 2022, and now, according to a Bloomberg report by journalist Mark Gurman, new information has come to light. Apple apparently bring the 2nd Gen Watch SE alongside the Apple Watch 8.
Apple Watch SE, launched in September 2020, was aimed towards those who wanted the basics out of the Apple Watch, without the most advanced features like an always-on display, blood oxygen sensor, ECG. Apple didn’t refresh the iPhone SE for a while, but it looks like the company is working on bringing the 2nd Gen of the Watch SE to those who want the design, look and feel of the Apple Watch at a more affordable price.
Apple Watch SE 2nd Gen, ‘Rugged’ Sports Editon: What we know
As of now, nothing is known about the 2nd Gen Watch SE. However, it is believed that some of the advanced features may make their way to it alongside a slightly different design. And that’s not all. Alongside the 2nd Gen Watch SE, Apple may also bring a new rugged Apple Watch aimed at sports lovers and professional athletes.
Now, this is not entirely shocking because the company has been working with Nike to bring the special edition Apple Watch Series 7 and SE models with a unique watch face and bands. The new rugged Apple Watch may come with a more resistant case to protect it from dents and scratches, and it could even withstand falls and impacts.
The current lineup consists of the latest Apple Watch 8, followed by Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch 3. The Apple Watch Series 7 and SE models are also born out of the Apple and Nike partnership. It is, however, not very clear yet whether the upcoming rugged Watch is another such particular edition product or would be included in the regular lineup of the Apple Watch. Maybe we will have to wait for a few more months to know that.
