Apple launched the iPhone 15 series smartphones on September 12 in the global and Indian markets simultaneously. The iPhone 15 series smartphones were the first to be equipped with a USB Type-C port. Apple also debuted the Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Ultra 2, Apple Watch SE 2, and Apple AirPods Pro 2nd Gen Type-C TWS. Apple recently debuted the updated Apple MacBook Pro and Apple iMac with M3 chipsets.
Apple has shared a press release where it has announced the launch of the Product RED edition of the Watch Series 9 smartwatches. The introduction of the Product RED variant of Apple Watch Series 9 was meant to celebrate World AIDS Day. Apple has been associated with Product RED since 2006, which uses its funds for AIDS awareness programs in sub-Saharan Africa.
The Cupertino giant has donated over a quarter of a billion dollars, which helps HIV-positive patients to cure their disease and prevent them from transmitting it to others. Apple has also announced to donate USD 1 for every purchase made using Apple Pay through the Apple Store app or an offline Apple Store. The smartphone giant will also donate revenue from select in-app purchases through the App Store made between December 1 and 4 for MONOPOLY GO, Gardenscapes, and EA Sports FC Mobile to the Global Fund.
Apple Watch Series 9 Product RED: Price, Availability
Apple has launched the Product RED Watch Series 9 at Rs 41,900 in India. The Cupertino giant hasn’t made any price increases for the Product RED edition of the watch. The watch will be available in 41mm and 45mm sizes in aluminum variants. The company is offering an instant discount of Rs 2,500 for HDFC Bank credit cards on Apple’s official website. Other offers include No Cost EMI ranging between 3 months to 6 months, three months of Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade, and more.
Apple currently retails the Product RED editions of iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 13, and iPhone SE in India and other markets. The smartphone giant also retails many Product RED accessories, including Silicone cases with Magsafe for iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 series smartphones. The Product RED editions can be purchased either from Apple India’s official website, offline stores, or other Apple-authorized offline and online stores.
Apple Watch Series 9 Product RED: Features, Specifications
The Product RED editions of the Watch Series 9 feature the exact technical specifications as the standard versions. Apple has equipped the smartwatches with customized watch faces as part of its celebration of World AIDS Day. The RED watch faces include Metropolitan, World Time, Numerals Mono, Gradient, Stripes, and Typograph.
To recall, the Watch Series 9 features an Always-on Retina display with a peak brightness of 2000 nits. The smartwatch is powered by an in-house S9 chip, which brings support for double tap gestures, precession finding for iPhone, and more. The watch features a heart rate sensor and blood oxygen sensor, temperature changes, and can track sleep and advanced workout metrics.
The Watch Series 9 has a water resistance of up to 50m with swim-proof and dust and crack resistance. Apple has revealed that the battery has a rating of 18 hours in regular and 36 hours in power-saving mode. The watch comes with fast charging and is bundled with a magnetic charger. The watch is available in GPS and GPS plus Cellular combinations.
