Both flagship phones feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, a 165Hz AMOLED display and a triple-camera setup on the back. ASUS is now rumoured to launch two new smartphones in the coming months. The Taiwan-based tech company will launch the ROG Phone 7D and ROG Phone 7D Ultimate. Ahead of the official launch, some details about the ASUS ROG Phone 7D have leaked online.
A new report by NewzOnly, citing tipster Paras Guglani as the source, revealed that the ROG Phone 7D series launch is imminent. The report claims that the ROG Phone 7D series will launch in the coming months. Let’s take a look at the ASUS ROG Phone 7D series specifications, features and other details known so far.
ASUS ROG Phone 7D Series Launch Tipped: What We Know So Far
The ASUS ROG Phone 7D series might launch by August 2023. The company is likely to launch the ROG Phone 7D Ultimate alongside the vanilla model. Guglani claims that the ROG Phone 7D has the model numbers AI2301_A and AI2301_C. The ROG Phone 7D Ultimate, on the other hand, has the model numbers AI2301_B and AI2301_D.
The tipster further revealed that the ROG Phone 7D series will debut in China in August 2023. The devices are likely to debut in other markets following the China launch.
The devices are likely to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ series SoC, which could be the upcoming Dimensity 9200+ SoC. Further, the ROG Phone 7D series is likely to feature up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
The rest of the hardware will remain the same. The ROG Phone 7D series will sport a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 2448 x 1080-pixel resolution. The screen will refresh at 165Hz and offer a 720Hz touch sampling rate. There will be support for up to 1500 nits of peak brightness, DCI-P3 colour gamut, and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
The phone will pack a 6000mAh battery and offer 65W fast charging support. The ROG Phone 7D series is likely to feature two USB Type-C ports. One of the ports on the side will be used for attaching accessories. The phone will feature a triple-camera setup on the back. There will be a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera sensor. The device will also feature a 13MP ultra-wide camera and a 5MP macro shooter.
The ROG Phone 7D series is likely to offer support for Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3 and also feature a 3.5mm headphone jack. The devices will run Android 13 out of the box and have the option to switch between ROG UI or Zen UI. At the moment, it is unknown if the ROG Phone 7D series will launch in India.
