OnePlus co-founder announced his departure from OnePlus back in October. He raised $7 million seed fund for his venture (yet to be announced) from investors that include famous YouTuber Casey Neistat, ex-Apple vice-president, and the man behind iPod, Tony Fadell. Now, Carl, on his Twitter account, has announced that he will announce his new brand on 27th of the month. Also, Carl is giving away 10 units of MacBook Air 2020 Edition, powered by Apple’s M1 chip. Carl had earlier appeared in an interview and had hinted that his upcoming venture will deal with personal audio products.

Carl had earlier said that his upcoming venture is “so much more” than just a headphone. This also raised speculations that Carl’s upcoming venture might be an end to end audio company. This may involve music production and license, hosting its own streaming platform, developing its own smart personal audio gear lineup, and much more. Carl has not revealed anything about the upcoming venture, but he had been looking to hire people in multiple people in Bangalore, London, and Stockholm. He has also revealed that his upcoming venture will be headquartered in London, UK, and not in the US.
Carl, along with Pete, co-founded OnePlus back in 2013, and also played an important role in bringing the Nord series. To recall, OnePlus made a comeback in mid-range segment after a long 5-year gap with OnePlus Nord in mid-2020. OnePlus Nord has been an absolute success as it has been one of the bestsellers in various regions.
