Google’s ‘Help Me Write’ AI feature is now available to Mac and Windows PC users. The feature to Chrome users through the M122 update of its browser. Let’s take a look at the new Chrome AI feature and what it is capable of.

Google’s ‘Help Me Write’ Feature Rolling Out

‘Help Me Write’ is the latest AI feature from Google to help you write better on the web. The new feature uses the Gemini language model to automatically scan the website content and provide appropriate writing suggestions.

Google states that the feature is designed to provide short-form content suggestions for online reviews, surveys, and more. The feature will understand the context of the webpage, pull relevant information, and then provide you with relevant text. When you pull up the Help Me Write feature, it will pop up as a floating window next to the text box.

As you can see in the image below, you can insert a short prompt in the first box to generate suggestions. The feature lets you set the length and tone of the suggestions. You can also generate another suggestion if not satisfied with the current one. Once happy, you can click on the Insert button to add it to the text box.

Google's Help Me Write feature for Chrome browser now available.

Notably, the company announced three AI features for Chrome, namely, automatic tab grouping, generative AI themes, and AI-powered writing on the Web, back in January. Google rolled out the first two features last month and is now rolling out the Help Me Write feature.

How to Use Help Me Write in Chrome?

The feature is located in the Experimental AI features section in the browser and here is how you can enable it.

  1. On the Chrome browser, click on the three-dot icon on the top and then Settings.
  2. Scroll to Experimental AI and click on it.
  3. On the next page, select Try out experimental AI features and then click on Help me write.
  4. Now, click on Relaunch.

One thing worth noting is that this feature is currently available in the US and should eventually roll out to all users.
