Google is rumoured to be working on a foldable smartphone. The foldable phone, dubbed the Google Pixel Fold, is expected to launch some time next year. The company has officially not confirmed any details about the launch timeline. But the rumour mill claims that the Pixel Fold is coming soon. As a follow-up, the latest batch of leaks reveals the display specifications of the Pixel Fold.
The details about the Pixel foldable phone’s display were revealed in a report by 91Mobiles. The report, citing a developer as its source, revealed that Google will rely on Samsung — a company dominating the foldable phone segment — for the display of its Pixel Fold. Google Pixel Fold Specifications
The Google Pixel Fold is slated to launch some time in 2023. The rumour mill has churned out some key details about the foldable phone. The leak reveals that the Pixel Fold, codenamed Felix, will feature Samsung displays on the inside and outside. The folding screen will have a resolution of 1840×2208. Its dimensions are 123mm x 148mm. The report also reveals that the Google foldable’s display will have a peak brightness of 1200 nits and support a 120Hz refresh rate as well.
The report also shed some light on the cameras of the Pixel Fold. It claims that Google will launch the foldable phone with a triple-camera setup on the back. There will be a Sony IMX787 main camera sensor. The foldable phone’s ultrawide camera will feature a Sony IMX386 sensor and a Samsung S5K3J1 telephoto camera. For selfies, the inner display will feature a Sony IMX355 sensor, whereas the cover screen will house a Samsung S5K3J1 sensor.
Separately, 9to5Google revealed that the Pixel foldable phone will feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The cover screen will have a resolution of 1080 x 2100 pixels.
As per the 91Mobiles report, the Pixel Fold will debut in March 2023. That being said, Google has not confirmed any details. Depending on the device’s development and tests, its launch timeline could change. We will share more details about the same as and when available.
