Jio Cinema is reportedly uploading the HBO Original Succession S4 on its platform. Read on to learn more about the information

  • Succession S4 is among one the few shows that might feature on Jio Cinema
  • JioCinema might also include a detailed list of HBO shows and movies in near future.
  • People may have to wait for some time to view the HBO content on Jio Cinema

As everybody now knows that Reliance and Warner Bros have reached an arrangement to make well-known Hollywood productions available on JioCinema. With the help of this collaboration between Reliance’s Viacom18 and Warner Bros, popular shows like Game of Thrones, Succession, and the future Harry Potter series could be available on JioCinema soon. In the past, the HBO content was accessible on the Disney+ Hotstar app and the collaboration between the two streaming services came to a stop on March 31.

HBO Shows and Movies to be Available on JioCinema Soon

According to new information, Jio Cinema is streaming Succession Season 4 on its platform. A Reddit community India Entertainment has claimed that HBO Original season 4 of Succession will soon be available on the Jio Cinema app.

However, this seems to be a testing phase for the HBO content broadcasting on the Jio Cinema, as one cannot play the content on the app. The app describes the show and gives a synopsis of the show but it is not playing right now.

This could simply mean that JioCinema is testing out the shows on its platform. We have also spotted some other shows, including The Last of Us Season 1 and House of Dragon to be available on the platform. However, there is no option to play the content at the time of writing.

How JioCinema and HBO Collaboration Will Affect OTT Landscape?

The timing of the deal between JioCinema and Warner Bros is particularly significant because key firms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney Hotstar are all fighting for a bigger portion of the Indian streaming market at this moment. JioCinema intends to expand its user base and solidify its place as one of India’s top streaming services with the help of this new alliance. The streaming service can anticipate a surge in users, much as what happened to Disney+ Hotstar when it began offering HBO programming.

The contract covers new and upcoming seasons of the critically acclaimed HBO series House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, Succession, and The White Lotus, as well as returning seasons of Perry Mason, True Detective: Night Country, Euphoria, Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, and The Last of Us. The agreement includes the much anticipated HBO Original Series The Idol, White House Plumbers, The Sympathiser, and The Regime. Also included are documentaries and popular HBO programs like Game of Thrones, Sex in the City, etc.

Let us hope that Jio Cinema may soon start streaming the original shows from HBO, Warner Brothers, and Max Original. Watch out this space for more such information.
