The official press images of the Huawei P Smart 2019 are out. The smartphone looks much like the Honor 10 Lite. Now that the official images are out, the smartphone is expected to launch soon. Although, only in Europe. There is no information about its international availability. The P Smart 2019 will be an entry-range smartphone, just like its predecessor. In case you do not know, the Huawei P Smart 2019 is the successor to the P Smart that was launched in 2017. There is no official information on the specifications of the device. However, there have been many leaks of the device. Thanks to those, we know enough of what the device will have to offer. Here are the details.
Huawei P Smart 2019 Expected Specifications and Features
A few weeks ago, XDA Developers revealed that the upcoming Huawei P Smart 2019 would have the Kirin 710 SoC. According to them, they received the news from a trusted source at FunkyHuawei. If the report is to be believed, the P Smart 2019 will have one of the most powerful processors among the smartphones in its price range. The Kirin 710 SoC is a new chipset from HiSilicon, which is built on the 12nm manufacturing process. It has an octa-core CPU which includes four Cortex-A53 cores for lighter tasks and four Cortex-A73 cores heavy tasks. There is also Mali G51 MP4 GPU, which is powerful enough to run most graphics intensive games with ease on the device’s native resolution.
A couple of days ago, the P Smart 2019 was certified through FCC, revealing its battery capacity, RAM and storage variants. According to the listing on FCC, the P Smart 2019 will have a 3320mAh battery. The smartphone will come in two storage variants; 32GB and 64GB. However, both the variants will have 3GB of RAM. It is quite unusual for a smartphone with such a powerful processor to have just 3GB of RAM; it might lead to a bottleneck. Anyway, that is what the listing on FCC reveals. It is possible that Huawei might launch it in 4GB RAM variant too. As for the software, it is possible that Huawei might just launch it with Android 9 Pie. Although, it might also come with Android 8.1 Oreo. In any case, the OS will have EMUI 9.0 customization over it.
As you might have figured out from official images, the smartphone has a near bezel-less display with a waterdrop notch on it. The screen is expected to be a 6.2-inch unit with Full HD+ resolution. Official images also reveal that there will be a dual-camera setup at the rear with AI capabilities. The dual-camera setup is rumored to have a 13-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, which might be true given that other Huawei mid-range smartphones have the same setup. The AI features might include scene recognition and beautification features among others. At the front, the device is expected to feature a 24MP camera.
Will It Come to India?
Huawei did not launch the first-generation P Smart in India. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that Huawei will launch the second-generation P Smart. Although, if it launches the P Smart 2019 in India at the same price that it is expected to go on sale in Europe, it will be one of the best smartphones in its price range.
