Infinix Smart 8 Set to Debut in India Soon: Here’s What we Know so Far

Infinix has announced the launch of the Infinix Smart 8 smartphone in India. The company had launched the Infinix Smart 8 in the Nigerian market recently. It had also debuted the Smart 8 HD smartphone in the Indian market. The Smart 8 and Smart 8 HD smartphones sport identical specifications. Infinix Smart 8 India Launch Timeline

Infinix confirms that the smartphone will debut soon in India. The vanilla Smart 8 smartphone is expected to debut in January in the country. The China-based OEM is expected to announce the launch date in the upcoming days.

The device will debut in a special edition with a timber textured back panel. It will be available in a total of three colour options.

Infinix will equip the smartphone with 50MP primary and secondary AI lenses. The Indian variant of the device will be slightly different from the global variant with a 13MP primary lens. The punch hole cutout in the display will house the 8MP selfie camera.

Infinix also confirms that the device will sport the Magic Ring feature that debuted with the Smart 8 HD smartphone. The Magic Ring is an expandable notch that can display various notifications, including charging, face unlock and more. Infinix will likely debut the smartphone in the sub-Rs 10,000 segment to lure budget smartphone customers. The smartphone sports a 6.6-inch IPS display with a 90Hz refresh rate.

It is powered by Unisoc T606 chipset, built on a 12nm process in the international markets. Infinix is likely to debut the smartphone with the same chipset in India. The chipset features two Cortex A75 cores clocked at 1.6GHz, six Cortex A55 cores clocked at 1.6GHz and Mali G57 MP1 GPU. The smartphone is backed by a large 5000mAh battery with 10W charging support.
