The Smart 8HD smartphone will succeed the Smart 7 HD, which made its debut in India in April this year.

Infinix Smart 8HD To Launch In India On December 6

Infinix Smart 8HD will pack an upgraded processor and a premium design, the company said in a press release. In addition, the Smart 8HD will be a budget smartphone, which will come with a 90Hz punch-hole display. It will sport a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a peak brightness of 500 Nits.

Further, in terms of design, the Infinix Smart 8HD will come with a textured back panel for a comfortable grip. Infinix 8HD will be available in four colour options – Crystal Green, Shiny Gold, Timber Black and Galaxy White. More features of the Infinix Smart 8HD include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a UFS 2.2 storage and a Type-C charging slot.

As of now the price and availability details are unclear. Of course, we will know more when the smartphone launches in India on December 8. To recall, the Smart 7HD was announced starting at Rs 5,999 for the 2GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration. We expect its successor to launch with a similar price tag as well.

Infinix Smart 8HD To Succeed Smart 7HD

The Infinix Smart 7HD gets a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, a water-drop-shaped notch, and a peak brightness of 500 nits. This suggests that the refresh rate of Smart 8HD’s display could be increased to 90Hz.

Infinix Smart 7HD is powered by an octa-core Spreadtrum SC9863A1 chipset which is clocked at 1.6GHz. Although the company has not revealed the processor which will power the Infinix Smart 8HD, we expect it to be an upgrade.

The new Smart HD series phone may come with a Unisoc T606 processor under the hood. Notably, the Smart Infinix 8 smartphone, which launched in Nigeria earlier this month, packs the same processor. The Infinix 8 ships with 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There’s also support for 4GB Virtual RAM and a microSD card for expandable storage.

Infinix Smart 8 features dual rear cameras where the primary sensor is a 13MP one and there’s a secondary VGA sensor. Key features of the Smart 8 include an 8MP selfie camera, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, face unlock support, 4G support, a 5,000mAh battery, and 10W charging. The smartphone runs Android 13 out of the box with a layer of XOS 13 skin on top.

In comparison, the Smart 7HD features an 8MP camera coupled with a secondary AI lens at the back. The front camera on the smartphone is a 5MP one. It comes with support for 2GB Virtual RAM and an expandable storage of up to 1TB, thanks to a microSD card slot.

The Smart 7HD runs Android 12 (Go Edition) with XOS 12 on top. It supports face unlock support and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It is backed by a 5,000mAh battery, which is the same as the Smart 8.
