Intel has launched its flagship 14th-generation Core i9-14900KS desktop processor, a successor to the i9-13900KS. The latest chipset from Intel supports a maximum clock speed of 6.2GHz, making it one of the fastest desktop CPUs. It also comes with significant upgrades in gaming performance and 3D rendering. Intel Core i9-14900KS: Price and Availability

The 14th-gen Intel Core i9-14900KS desktop processor is priced at $699 (approx Rs 57,900) in international markets. The chipset is currently available for direct purchase across retailers. However, the Indian pricing and availability have not been disclosed by Intel yet.

Intel Core i9-14900KS: Specifications and Features

The Intel Core i9-14900KS features 24 cores, which contain 8 performance cores and 16 efficiency cores. It supports 32 threads along with 36MB of Intel Smart Cache. The processor supports maximum clock speeds of up to 6.2GHz using Intel Thermal Velocity Boost, with a 150W base power rating.

It also supports 20 PCIe lanes, comprising 16 PCIe 5.0 lanes, and four PCIe 4.0 lanes. The chipset also gets Expanded Intel APO support that offers up to an 11% performance boost in supported gaming titles. Intel says that the new chip can provide up to 73% performance improvement in heavy computing tasks like 3D rendering and production.

Users can pair up to 192GB of DDR5 RAM with 5600 MT/s, and DDR4 RAM with 3200 MT/s. The Core i9-14900KS is compatible with Z790 and Z690 motherboards. The company recommends using the latest BIOS updates for the best performance.

The Intel Core i9-14900KS will be available for both, retail boxes and OEM usage. We can expect to see pre-built desktops using the latest Intel chipsets over the next few weeks. The processor is currently available in international markets and its Indian availability is expected soon.
