Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why can’t I transfer more than Rs 5000 in Google Pay?

The reason why you cannot transfer more than Rs 5,000 in Google Pay might be because you could have changed your mobile phone. If you have changed your phone, mobile number or UPI PIN, you only send a maximum of Rs 5,000. However, the limit is only valid for the first 24 hours. Google Pay allows you to send up to Rs 1 lakh in one day. Moreover, one can send money only 10 times in one day across all UPI applications.

How do I increase my GPay daily limit?

Usually, the daily limit is controlled by the UPI issuing bank’s limit. If that is the case, all you can do is wait for the next day for the limit to refresh or use a different payment method. You can also request or transfer a smaller amount than the day’s limit and transfer the rest of the amount after the daily limit refreshes.

You can check the table on this page to know the UPI limit of your bank. Some banks have different UPI transaction limits and UPI daily limits. For example, with Allahabad Bank, the UPI transaction limit is Rs 25,000, while UPI daily limit is Rs 1,00,000. If you face an issue with the limit on transferring Rs 30,000 with this bank on GPay, you can send the amount in parts, i.e., you can transfer the amount of Rs 25,000 first and then send the rest of the amount, Rs 5,000, in the second payment.
