Apple is all set to host its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 10, where the company is expected to announce its new iOS 18, new iPadOS, and a lot more. While the company has not revealed many details about its forthcoming developers conference, the rumour mill has several details that Apple might unveil on June 10.

According to Mark Gurman’s PowerOn newsletter, Apple is said to announce AI features like auto-generated emojis and its partnership with OpenAI.

Apple and OpenAI Partnership

According to Gurman’s report, the Cupertino-based tech giant will start allowing AI chatbots to integrate more deeply into its operating system. OpenAI’s ChatGPT will be the first one to get on board. However, it’s not just OpenAI; the company is also in talks with other players, like Google, for its Gemini integration and Anthropic.

AI-Generated Emojis and More Features

Apple is also working on a feature to create live custom emojis based on what the user is typing. This means users will have an all-new emoji for different occasions beyond the catalogue of options that Apple currently offers on the iPhone and other devices.

In addition, Apple could use AI to improve its cluttered notification panel. According to Gurman, Apple might introduce a new “smart recap” feature, which would summarise missed texts, notifications, and various other items such as web pages, news articles, documents, notes, and other forms of media.

The company is reportedly planning to introduce new AI-powered enhancements for on-device Spotlight search, internet searches via Safari, and email and text writing suggestions.

More Customisation with iOS 18

Apple has always been quite restrictive about allowing customisation on iPhones. However, with the upcoming iOS 18 release, it seems like the tech giant is ready to give more power to Tinkerers.

As per Gurman’s latest report, Apple will allow users to change the colour of the app icons. This aligns with an earlier rumour suggesting that Apple will relax its restrictive app icon arrangement, allowing for blank spaces between apps, similar to how it works on Android.

While all these updates are intriguing, it’s essential to remember that the company has not revealed any details. So take all this information with a pinch of salt.
