WhatsApp has announced the ability to pin multiple messages in individual chats and groups. The feature was previously being tested as part of WhatsApp beta for Android, version number 2.24.6.15. The ability to pin single messages was introduced by WhatsApp in December 2023.
How to Pin Multiple WhatsApp Messages
WhatsApp is now rolling out the ability to pin up to three messages in individual chats and groups. The introduction of pinning multiple messages will help users keep track of the vital information shared by other users.
The Meta-owned giant reiterates that users can either pin text messages or other messages, including emojis, media, and voice messages. For this, you just have to long-press the messages you would want to pin in one-on-one or group chats. WhatsApp will ask for a confirmation of the duration of the pinned message, which ranges between 24 hours, seven days, or thirty days.
Once pinned, the message will stay on top of the chat and can be accessed by tapping on it. On group chats, admins will have to power to decide whether they get to pin messages or allow others to do so too. For those who don’t know, there’s also the ability to pin individual or group chats on the messaging platform.
In related news, WhatsApp recently started blocking people from capturing screenshots of the profile pictures of other users. The feature is currently limited to Android smartphone users and is expected to soon be available on iOS-running devices. WhatsApp is also reportedly testing a feature that will allow users to post longer videos in status.
