Krafton, the developer behind Battlegrounds Mobile India has released BGMI 2.9 update for both Android and iOS users. The new update is set to bring a slew of new events which comprise a new Themed Mode – Ice & Snow Festival in the heart of Erangel. Players will be experiencing the snowy town of Erangel and it is perfectly timed before the Christmas season.
The new update started rolling out earlier this morning and it has been available to all users across the country on their respective app stores. The new winter mode in Erangel is inspired by the Christmas festival as some completely new events and features resemble the festival.

Ice and Snow Theme Mode:
The new themed mode titled Frozen Kingdom theme will make its debut in Erangel, Vikendi and Livik. A snowboard will be introduced on which you can travel on both water and land. A new vehicle, Christmas Reindeer will be introduced and players can use this to travel through the snow battlefield. Two players can sit on this wooden deer.
The update also features a snow gun and a player turns to a snowman for 30 seconds upon being hit by it. An ice red zone drops ice balls which will offer covers for the players and the player gets turned into a snowman if the ice ball drops on you.
Ranveer Singh Discovery Event – Play Pure
Renowned Indian actor Ranveer Singh has joined BGMI. In the regular game mode, players have the opportunity to accumulate points. Achieving success in the game allows you to unlock exclusive Ranveer Singh items, such as parachutes. Upon reaching 3000 points, players can obtain Ranveer Singh’s distinctive voice and a personalized in-game picture of the actor.
X-Suit Carnival
This event will be a golden opportunity for those who don’t have an X-suit in their inventory. Four X-suits will be included in this event. Three cherished classics make a comeback, yet amidst their return, a mysterious newcomer emerges, captivating the spotlight.
Royal Pass RPA3
The new update includes the latest Royale Pass A3, immersed in the thrilling Freaky Fiesta theme, and it’s loaded with incredible rewards just waiting for you to seize. Dive into the excitement and grab the Circus of Screams – Crossbow along with an exclusive Victory Dance!
Apart from these, more events like the Flying Pan Challenge or the Mythic Forge are awaiting the players. The new update is now available on Google Play Store and App Store. The update size is reportedly 251 MB for Android and 2.8 GB for iOS users.
Because of the new update, the matches of BMPS 2023 were cancelled today.
BGMI 2.8 update featuring the Zombies Edge mode was introduced in October month. That mode had received mixed reviews while many did not like the mode as hoped by the developers. Players kept asking the company to launch the new update and Krafton was finally released after delaying it for a few days.
