Lenovo Legion Gaming Notebooks Refreshed With Latest 9th Gen Intel Core CPUs

Like many other leading notebook brands, Lenovo has refreshed its popular Legion and Ideapad lineup of gaming notebooks with Intel's newest 9th Gen Core mobile processors and NVIDIA's latest 16-series GPUs. Along with the refreshed models, Lenovo has announced two new laptops to its lineup – Legion Y7000 and IdeaPad L340 Gaming.

The upgraded Legion Y740 now comes with up to a 9th Gen Intel Core i7 mobile processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 with Max-Q design. Available in 15-inch and 17-inch screen sizes, the gaming notebook can be configured with a GeForce GTX 1660 Ti as well. Consumers can also choose a 144Hz 1920 x 1080 Full HD display with NVIDIA G-SYNC support for a smoother gaming experience. The panel comes with Dolby Vision support and is claimed to have a peak brightness of 500 nits. Some other highlights of the upgraded Y740 include a Dolby Atmos speaker system with Dolby Sound Radar, optional 32GB DDR4-2666 MHz memory, and 100% anti-ghosting CORSAIR iCue RGB backlit keyboard.

The Lenovo Y540 is also available in both 15-inch and 17-inch sizes. It now comes with up to a 9th Gen Intel Core i7 mobile processor and a GeForce RTX 2060 GPU. The 15-inch version weighs just 2.3kg, which means it could be a great option for those of you looking for a light gaming notebook. It also offers up to six hours of battery life.

Featuring an impressive aluminum metal design, the refreshed Legion Y7000p packs up to a 9th Gen Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU. The more affordable variants of the notebook will be available with GeForce GTX 1660 Ti and 1650 options.

The Legion Y740 will be available in the US and a few other markets starting next month for a starting price of $1609.99 (INR 1,12,600 approx.). Lenovo Legion Y540 will start at $929.99 (INR 65,000 approx.) for the base 15-inch model featuring a GeForce GTX 1650 GPU. The 15-inch Legion Y7000p will also go on sale starting May 2019 from $979.99 (INR 68,500 approx.).

Lenovo Legion Y7000 and IdeaPad L340 Gaming Are the Latest Additions to Lenovo's Gaming Lineup

The Lenovo Legion Y7000 is a new 15-inch gaming laptop that is available with similar hardware as the Y7000p. Its key highlight is the near edgeless Full HD IPS display with a 144 Hz refresh rate and 300 nits brightness. The Legion Y7000 also offers crimson red "Y" lighting and a full-sized keyboard with red LED lighting.

Lenovo IdeaPad L340 Gaming is a notebook designed for more casual gamers. The IdeaPad L340 is available in both 15-inch and 17-inch screen sizes. Similar to the latest Legion gaming notebooks, it packs up to a 9Th Gen Intel Core i7 processor. As for graphics, the notebook will be available with a GeForce GTX 1650 GPU. While Lenovo is yet to share pricing and availability information for the Y7000, the 15-inch and 17-inch IdeaPad L340 Gaming models are slated to go sale starting next month. The 15-inch version will start at $869.99 (INR 60,900 approx.), while the 17-inch model will start at $919.99 (INR 64,300 approx.).
