[Exclusive] Samsung Galaxy A10s to Launch with Upgraded Camera, Processor, and Battery

It’s been a while since Samsung launched its refreshed lineup of A-Series handsets in India. The lowest-priced device among these handsets was the Galaxy A10 which at the time of launch back in March 2019 would have set you back by INR 8,490. Since its launch, however, the price of the handset has reduced to INR 7,990. Now, we have exclusive information about Samsung working on a refreshed version of this device that the company intends to launch in India. According to Ishan Agarwal, this new variant of the phone goes by the name of the Samsung Galaxy A10s and will feature a slew of updates over the older model.

According to Ishan, the Galaxy A10s at 7.8mm is marginally thinner than the outgoing model. The camera setup also sees an upgrade. While the A10 came with a single 13MP rear camera with f/1.9 aperture, the A10s is slated to get a 13MP+2MP set up with the primary camera also getting a wider f/1.8 aperture. The front-facing camera which used a 5-megapixel sensor on the A10 also sees an upgrade on the updated device. Samsung, according to Ishan, has opted for an 8MP sensor for the Galaxy A10s.

While Ishan has not revealed the processor that the Galaxy A10s is likely to come with he does reveal that it will be an octa-core chip clocked at 2.0 GHz. An earlier FCC listing had revealed the possibility of the A10s using the MediaTek Helio P22 chipset (which incidentally, also happens to be an Octacore chipset with all eight cores clocked at up to 2.0 GHz).

The Samsung Galaxy A10s is also likely to feature a larger 4,000 mAh battery instead of the 3,400 mAh battery on the older model. Another significant upgrade on the Galaxy A10 would be the presence of a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The A10, if you recall, did not have any biometric unlocking methods. Lastly, we have also received confirmation that the Galaxy A10s would be offered in back, blue, and green color options.

We still do not know how soon Samsung plans to launch the refreshed Samsung Galaxy A10s in India.
