Google Pixel Fold Design Revealed via a Real-Life Video Ahead of I/O 2023 Launch

Google Pixel Fold leaks have started surfacing at a faster rate as we approach the launch. The first Google foldable phone will likely launch at the May 10 I/O event. Google has not officially commented on the launch of its first Pixel foldable phone. However, looking at the number of leaks, it seems like the Pixel Fold launch is not far away. Adding to the leaks is a new live video revealing the Pixel Fold’s display details.

The live video uploaded by Twitter user Kuba Wojciechowski has revealed the cover and foldable display details of the Pixel Fold. The real-life video reveals that the foldable display is surrounded by fairly thick bezels at the top and bottom. The side bezels seem to be slightly narrower in comparison.On the outside, the Google Pixel Fold has a hole-punch cutout at the top centre for the front camera.

The video does not give a clear look at the bezels around the cover display of the Pixel Fold. It also does not confirm any details about the rear panel or the camera module design. However, thanks to the rumour mill, a lot about the design and specifications of the Pixel Fold has leaked online. Google Pixel Fold Specifications and Features: What is Known So Far

The Google Pixel Fold design renders, which had leaked months ago, revealed that the foldable phone will have slightly thick bezels around the cover display. The OLED foldable display is said to be 7.6-inch diagonally tall and come with a 6:5 aspect ratio. It has 2208 × 1840-pixel resolution and 380 PPI. On the outside, the Full HD+ cover display is said to be 5.8 inches tall and come with a 17:9 aspect ratio. The foldable and cover displays will have a 120Hz refresh rate.

The rear panel has a protruding camera bar, which is not end-to-end like the Pixel 7 series. Tipster Jon Prosser recently revealed that the foldable phone will feature a 48MP main camera with an f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilisation (OIS) support. It will feature a 10.8MP ultra-wide camera with a 121.1-degree field of view and an f/2.2 aperture. There will also be a 10.8MP dual PD telephoto camera with an f/3.05 aperture and 5x optical zoom support. The cover display will feature a 9.5MP f/2.2 front camera, whereas the top bezel of the foldable display will feature an 8MP front camera.

The Pixel Fold is said to feature Google’s Tensor G2 SoC. It will launch with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and offer up to 512GB of storage. There will be a beefy battery under the hood. While the tipster did not reveal the capacity, it is said that the Pixel Fold will offer beyond 24 hours of battery life.

The tipster revealed that the 256GB variant of the Pixel Fold will launch for $1,799 (roughly Rs 1,47,500), whereas the 512GB variant will cost $1919 (roughly Rs 1,57,400). The Pixel Fold will launch in two colours — Chalk and Obsidian.
