Honor 30 Youth Edition with MediaTek Dimensity 800 SoC, 6GB RAM Surfaces on Geekbench, Launch Expected Soon

A new 5G ready phone called the Honor 30 Youth Edition is being readied for launch in China

Huawei’s popular sub-brand Honor has been on a launch spree of sorts in China. In a previous report here in Gear, you had read about the possibility of the company coming up with two new handsets called the Honor X10 Max and the Honor 30 Youth Edition. In that report, you read about the likely specifications of the X10 Max. Today, we have come across a Geekbench listing for a new ‘Huawei’ device with the model number ‘HUAWEI MXW-AN00’. This handset has previously been postulated to be the Honor 30 Youth Edition. The same handset had earlier popped up on TENAA, and it was then thought to be another upcoming device called the Honor 30 Lite. As for the Honor 30 Lite, this is rumored to be the global variant of the Honor 30 Youth Edition.

Anyway, let us now take a look at what the Geekbench listing says before we talk in detail about the phone.

Honor 30 Youth Edition Geekbench

From the image above, we see that the HUAWEI MXW-AN00 comes powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 800 processor (identified by its model number – MT6873). Also revealed is the fact that the SoC has a clock speed of up to 2GHz and that it features 6GB of RAM and runs Android 10. From the codename MXW-AN00, we can also deduce that it is a part of the company’s “Maxwell” series. Earlier reports have indicated that this handset is a 5G capable device. Also clear from the Geekbench result is the fact that the device manages to score 2491 points in the single-core test and 8737 points in the multi-core test.

Also pertinent to note is the fact that the same device had also made an appearance on the Bluetooth SIG website. This indicates that we could see Honor officially announce the launch of this new handset within the next few weeks. As outlined in our earlier article, we are currently looking at a launch timeline of July for the Honor 30 Youth Edition as well as the Honor X10 Max.
