- The iQOO 12 series is claimed to sport 144Hz Samsung E7 AMOLED displays.
- The choice of processor is rumoured to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
- The iQOO 12 series is expected to launch in China later this year.
Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO is preparing for the launch of its next Android flagship series. It is speculated to be called iQOO 12 and will succeed the iQOO 11 and iQOO 11 Pro from the last year. The two models in the lineup will be iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro. These surfaced in a leak last month that revealed various key specifications. Now, a fresh leak has emerged detailing iQOO 12 camera specifications.
iQOO 12 Series Triple Rear Camera Details
Digital Chat Station, a well-known and reliable tipster, has shared iQOO 12 camera specs details on Weibo. The post claims both iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro will come with the same triple rear camera setup. It means users of both models will have the same camera sensors at their disposal.
The iQOO 12 series is said to have a 50MP OV50H primary camera sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS). There will be a 50MP ISOCELL JN1 wide-angle camera and a 64MP OV64GB telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS. The setup looks similar to the iQOO 12 series but there is an improvement in the zoom capabilities.
The iQOO 12 series offers 2x zoom support. With the newly added 3x zoom, users will be able to click photos on which they can zoom in even further. Since iQOO is not said to be restricting it to the Pro model, it is good news for vanilla iQOO 12 buyers too.
A previous leak revealed the iQOO 12 series will have Samsung E7 AMOLED displays with 144Hz refresh rate. The panel is further said to offer 2K resolution on both models as we saw last year. There should also be HDR10+ support.
Under the hood, we could see the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagship processor. This is because last year’s models arrived with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. While these specifications are something you would expect from a 2023 Android flagship, iQOO is tipped to offer something that will surely leave your jaws dropped.
The iQOO 12 Pro is rumoured to feature a massive 24GB RAM and up to 1TB storage space. We have seen the Realme GT 5 and Nubia’s RedMagic 8S Pro launch with a whopping 24GB of RAM. There is no doubt such an amount of RAM is overkill for a smartphone but it is what it is. You will have an option to get the 24GB RAM variant if you want to.
The iQOO 12 series is further expected to ship with OriginOS 4.0 based on Android 14. There is tipped to be a 5,000mAh battery to keep the lights on. iQOO is expected to unveil the flagship smartphone series in China later this year. We could see the global launch happen sometime in early 2024.
